Re: New Nation: Iran

Bumping this topic with the most important anecdotes that no-one seems to think about. http://www.airvectors.net/avcobra_2.html 1) AA TOW Iranian Cobras saw extensive combat in the war with Iraq in the 1980s, most notably coming up against their "opposite number", the Soviet-built Mil-24 &...

Re: "category" system removal + price range change

I'm not advocating for the removal of cat C-B units but for the removal of cat-deck specialization option. I noticed, I just trailed off on a tangent about limiting those units *as well* without articulating it, my bad. Though I think the removal of the specialisation *ought* to involve trimming do...

Re: "category" system removal + price range change

Categories are only there for roleplayers, don't see the point of messing with them. They don't help "role-play" much at all. Arbitrary '80 and '85 cut-offs don't work well for balance, hence my '82ish and '87ish suggestion. To repeat myself, they're there for roleplay. Balance has nothin...

Re: "category" system removal + price range change

Age category decks (much like destruction) should be gone and most of the spec decks reworked into something that works to prevent noob trap decks. I'm sympathetic to their total removal, but a lot of legacy units have utility in standard "Category A" games, and there is a case for removi...

"category" system removal + price range change

Should Wargame 4 remove the simplistic Category system we currently have in Red Dragon? Should Categories be refined to specific years that better simulate a conflict escalation, weapon-intros/balance? ie A for strict '92, B for '87, C for '82, etc? Should the 5-200pt price range be spread out a bit...

unit card mock-up?

Has someone created a unit-card mock-up utility? You know, to visually create a unit card as an example, without labouring in Photoshop or 9000 hours in Paint. Would appreciate it if someone knows.

Re: West-Germany (or hoping without hope)

Blindicide is surprisingly okay, with stats more like base RPG-7 than a Bazooka. That's not even counting the rocket-assisted projectiles that could justify 875m range, although probably only for the 83mm variant. The larger problem is that I don't think the Bundesheer operated any Blindicides. Sho...
