Re: Job rant

I've had problems where I damage the spot where the micro-USB head intersects with the cable thanks to reading my phone in bed while it's plugged in. I recently got a pair of cables that have the micro-USB head at an angle ( here's what I got if you want to take a look ). It'll be a while before I ...

Re: Job rant

There seem to be two people in this world. Those who ruin cables within weeks and those who keep them for life. Mother and sister have chewed though so many cables I've lost count, meanwhile, my 1st gen iPod touch is still using it's original cable... I have a pair of iPods that still use the origi...

Re: World news thread

There's a significant difference in survivablity when you start talking about 15-20+ tons of weight difference. Also, my biggest fear isn't from ATGMs, which are what you are referencing (and with piss poor "evidence" to back up your claims for that matter). There's all sorts of ways of d...

Re: World news thread

Soviets had ERA and APS systems back in Afghanistan. But to argue that any tank is immune to ATGM's is stupid, all modern tanks have been penetrated by modern day ATGM's, some are more survivable than others, but none are immune. I'm not arguing that any MBT is immune to ATGMs I just don't agree on...

Re: #MakeAmericaGreatAgain

I would think there would need to be a.. You know... Emergency to insight a national emergencies act? Here's your first emergency. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/10/20/air-force-recall-many-1-000-retired-pilots-address-serious-shortage/785344001/ You know, I have heard of this be...

Re: Job rant

Does anyone have good suggestions on cellphones that do not have shitty cables? I'm getting sick and tired of constantly having to buy new USB cables because they always seem to go to hell before long. My latest one to go bad lasted only a bit over 2 weeks. Trying to Uber/Lyft, but the cable would s...

Re: #MakeAmericaGreatAgain

There's some vets who wouldn't mind, some who would embrace it, and some who would resist it, same as anything else.

Re: #MakeAmericaGreatAgain

I would think there would need to be a.. You know... Emergency to insight a national emergencies act? I'm not exactly keen on what his definition of what is an emergency. Especially with Trump actively talking about trying to suppress the many that disagree with him, I hate to see how he can exploi...

Re: Conquest without income - Best of both worlds

The second point is that a rolling retreat is still a mobile tactic. It's mobile in the backward direction. you pull part of your line back so as the enemy advances, they get flanked by other parts. This is not static "sitzkrieg" you are talking about. And presumably at some point you'd w...

Re: World news thread

Fast Forward 2015, M1A2s, Leopard 2A4s, T-90s and Merkava IVs (2006 Lebanon) are literally getting blown up by Soviet era ATGMs. Many suffering catastrophic damage with ammunition cook offs, turret pops and all. Yet a Leclerc could take a frontal Kornet ATGM hit with no structural damage and was qu...
