My only issue is how the riot police. Some socialists just standing around doing nothing voting in a poll that people would have probably not taken seriously. Then bam, riot cops just show up to smack people who are just standing around. I can understand rocks, bottles, molotovs, and hostile crowds. However most of the crowds attacked appear to just be people standing around. Bad PR if you ask me.

Also I don't understand the EU. They sanction Xenophobic countries like Hungary, but they wont condemn Spain's use of the police.

The King of Spain is a borderline figurehead, and yet here you are complaining about him.

They should have just ignored the vote, the crackdown was pointless, fruitless, and just bad PR. Other than that, you are grasping at straws to try to hype up some rich folk complaining about muh taxes going to da poor. The vote was still illegal, no way you can argue that, period.

The grasping gets even more obvious when you remember that the Spanish monarchy and the first King after Franco actually pushed forward the transition to democracy very actively and defend it against an attempted military coup.
Courtesy to a discussion of the upcoming DLC for SD44. Sufficient to say, one of my
mates is very happy about the new Allied divisions. I totally don't get why...

The King...

Even a king can state the obvious.

The mossos share the responsability here, if they obeyed their fucking oders to apply the decision of a lawful court of justice, the justice they swore to serve, instead of playing at being a pawn in the hand of the Catalan gov, they would have been no need to send the riot police.
But hey, when you give the finger to due process and try a show of force, you don't really have the moral highground to whine about you got your head smashed afterward. Of course that's bad PR, the Spanish gov that handled this shit like babies playing with fireworks for years and now they have to deal with a begining of secession. That's real bad PR, but what else could they have done ? The catalan clearly showed they had no desire to negociate (negociate what anyway ? the only thing left is taxes, that would have been too obvious) and that they wouldn't take no for an answer no matter how illegal their whole shit was.

As for the Eu, you can't put Hungary's immigrant treatment (if that's what you are refering to) with a quasi coup d'état. The EU considered it was an internal affair for a simple reason : Spain is a major member of the union, condemning it would only add pressure on a relatively volatile situation and would be used by the Catalan to further their rhetoric and isolate Spain. There is no reason they would put another member in more precarious position.
And then you have other secessionist movements in europe that are watching how things are unfolding. If they see the EU going against Spain that would only enbolden them and help create a precedent, Belgium and France and many other don't need this so they won't say a thing until past a point.

So, generally if EU has some business it is quiet, if not, it interfere with internal affairs of other countries?

As long as you don't go against the union's treaties and law, or impede the union's stability. The rest is just on a case basis.

EDIT: and Puigdemont finally spoke aaaaaand he want to negociate ? Ahaha lol, man you were supposed to unilateraly proclaim the independance for days and now you you are pussing out ? What's going on ? Can't find friends to support you or what ?
