M42 Duster: The same as Japanese and West German Duster. 15 points.

M163 VADS: The same as the American and South Korean VADS. Thailand purchased 20 M163 and 42 M167 during 1980s. 25 points.

M151 HN-5A: An M151 jeep with an HN-5A MANPADS mounted on it. 15 points.

Humvee HN-5B: An open topped Humvee with HN-5B MANPADS. 20 points.

Spada Aspide: A Spada Aspide SAM launcher mounted onto an Isuzu truck. Spada missile is the ground based variant of the AIM-7F Sparrow AAM. The Spada have 8 missiles, 4,550 meters range against airplanes, 2,800 meters against helicopters. 40% accuracy on static, very good air detection, medium size, poor stealth. 80 points.

Not one of the nations that have HAWK in game have so poor an AA tab otherwise as Thailand. Also, remember that they may have a 135 point MiG-29 equivalent in the Tigershark as it's best ASF. Aspide is necessary for Thailand, we must now figure out how best to mobilise it.

In the 1996 parade, Thai VADS did came with the radar disk. It looks like the one mounted on the American PIVADS, but South Korea's unguided VADS (The KM163) also have radar disk. Can anyone explain this to me?

Well, I could be wrong but I think that's an 81mm mortar V-150 on page 57.

Yes, it translated to 81mm mortar and 90mm mobile gun carriage.

Excellent, that's a new unit you don't have on the list! Further thought: How sure are you that the Humvee was only I-TOW. It's just occurred to me that I-TOW is a funny thing to be exporting in 1990 and I half-recall that I-TOW and TOW-2 don't fit in quite the same mounts so someone would have to have downgraded the Thai Humvees. I'm not sure though.

The document only said "TOW" without providing information on what variants of TOW it is. Also, the Thai document use the M1025 variant of the Humvee as the "armed" version with weapons of choice being M60, M2 .50cal and Mk.19 AGL. Also, on parade in 1996, most of the Humvee shown were open topped. So could the M1025 be used instead of the M998?

I could put the TOW 2 on the Humvee but AFAIK, the first TOW 2 armed vehicle I knew to arrive in Thailand is the M901A3 ITV and that thing arrive in 1997 and would put it in the prototype zone.

There are also the Thai derivatives of the Humvee known as M50/51 Chaiprakan but I don't know the date it entered service.

I don't think I-TOW production continued after TOW-2 entered production.

I'm afraid I have much skill in this field but when TOW-2 entered production. The Thai document also vaguely stated the missile as "TOW" and that's it. So I go with the normal TOW-->I-TOW-->TOW-2 as a temporary solution
