Reading weapon of choice by Dr Mathew Ford its very interesting it goes into how small arms are selected from engineering, cultural, scientific and political stand points. Such as why the US disregarded all scientific and engineering data to select 7.62 (and incidentally 30 06 over 276 Pedersen) because it appealed to them on cultural grounds of long range skill at arms.

I'm probably not the best to judge quality, but they're decent. Seem to get better as they go on, though.

Less popular now. It was pretty damn big back in the 80's and into the 90's. Same with Planescape, really.
