First of all, thanks for all of you who voted to make this possible.
It required a persistent joint community effort, a twisted obsessi..., lot of embarrasing dank memes and a bit lof luck - but here we are! Here we are, years later, just as predicted:
As the second DLC is already underway, persistent and completely unrealistic optimism of an eventual inclusion of Finland to Wargame shall prevail in the end

Now then!
Let me tell you the days of Cold War era Finnish Defence Forces!

"No! This is WRONG!
Why is Finland, a Nordic democracy that proclaimed to be a neutral country during the Cold War a part of Redfor? What about Winter War?! And my veteran grandfather!!1!"

1.) Because the Western countries pretty much considered Finland to be a part of the Soviet camp:
viewtopic.php?p=935883#p935883
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU9X84KGXTE
2.) Because historically Finland was within hair's breath away from becoming an active member of the WP together with the Soviets: viewtopic.php?p=934515#p934515
3.) And because Finland had extensive contacts with the Soviet military and a treaty of mutual military assistance with them:
viewtopic.php?p=324163#p324163

And because Finland has a lot more to offer for Redfor than Bluefor. So take it or leave it, but Redfor it is.

Now then, the Cold War era FDF!

Here is the proposal draft of the FDF OOB:

Careful, people asked for bicycles in the next C&C and EA turned it into a F2P game

Insane troll logic aside motorcycles would have been cool for infantry.

But we all know the worst part about not including Finland is that there wont be any justification to add music from certain residents of the zone adjacent to Bodom in the OST of the game:

Panzer IV: You though the Syrians in Six-Day War were the last to ride these Panzers to battle? Nope, in a case of war in the following decades the FDF would have still had them mothballed with trained reserve crews ready to roll

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2578/387 ... 6b0bd7.jpg
Sturmgeschütz III: Imagine if you could accompany those Swedish S-Tanks with Finnish WW2-vintage StuG IIIs - they were still in storage during later Cold War decades, just waiting for someone to include them to a tactical wargame...

Crews left from WWII too?

might include some sabaton though!

They made a special version of panzer battallion for my unit which will be featured in the game (the unit not the song) or so the devs told me.

starts at about 1:20 in this film made a few years before I was in (while we still had CV90s grrrr)

All Finnish infantry units, especially mechanized infantry, have had motorcycle scout teams as part of their TO&E for nearly half a century now. They deliver sniper teams and small AT patrols to positions, scout the usable roads ahead and even deliver messages if all else fails and radio networks are jammed. Too bad you won't see them in-game

Doesn't this fit Off-topic section of the forum? ... Since it doesn't concern W:ALB at all.

Tired of those VAB-rushes and unwilling to see more of the same with XA-180s, even if some of they would come with deck-mounted ITOWs, 95 S 58-61 heavy recoilless rifles or 23mm AA guns attached?

No worries, now you can organize your Finnish reservists and flank the supply lines of your foe with trustworthy mobilized civilian tractors

Nice complement to the thread viewtopic.php?f=70&t=14794

I didn't consider "storage for later use" as apparently that's not in Steel Panthers MBT either?
