Re: Why does West Germany get shafted so hard in this game?

Postby Mako » Sun 5 Mar 2017 22:52

FRG sucks because it was conceived as being inseparable from France as part of EC back in the early days of the game before the restrictions were loosened to the "hey lets actually make factions good and interesting" level we have today.

Pzh 2000, EF-2000 should be in.

They should simply have a Roland EOTS without radar and increased A/H range or something similar to fill that hole.

There are several Roland prototypes in time frame.

Hawks should be in, no excuse for this.

Patriot shouldn't be in game and should not be proliferated.

Maybe a Leo 2A4 1990 as well, or whatever they called the incremental upgrades.
If there's two kinds of players, those that like challenges and those that want a fair game, pubstomps should make everyone happy.

Tons of time have been said by me. If you remove Patriot you should reomve HAWK. Why? Both was part of SAM belt in NATO in GER. Yes, RD does not act in GER but both served as Soviets called army level SAM units. Pls check Patriot manuals and you can see even mixed Patriot and HAWK units could be set up.

USA has only 4 protos why it would to select why USSR had much more...

That's your explanation for why roland reload time ingame is longer than IRL while for all other units it's shorter ingame than IRL?

To be honest, Hawk shouldn't really be in either seeing as it's stationary and a higher level system, but that ship has sailed and half of bluefor relies on it for their AA.

Every single nation was shafted in alb in the face of mixed decks, so it's not like they were "better" in there

Pretty much. For a long time long range rad aa was the only viable form of anti-plane aa, but eurocore's aa would still be somewhat lackluster with it.

Including one that iirc was using Crotale's missiles, but that'd overlap fairly hard with the actual French crotale in a coalition deck.

In this case throw out Buk, it is army level SAM system either...

I'd throw out buk, but it's the counterpart to Hawk.

The problem is that 9 strike aircraft is not an organic asset either.

There are waaaaaay more aircraft available proportionally than there are ground units.

Because we've added "prorotype" M272 Hawk only to countries which wouldn't have had a single SP-SAM otherwise.
Both Germany & France, which operated the system, had "real" SP-Roland hence didn't qualified for it.
