Sound Modding

Postby Apocalypse31 » Sun 30 Mar 2014 15:34

Has anyone figured out how to mod the sounds yet?

There are some sounds that I particularly dislike, such as the small arms rifle sounds, as well as the 50 caliber machine gun sounds.

Sounds are in ZZ_1.dat inside the first patch folder for the pre-order beta.
They're stored as .ess but referenced in other files as a .wav, I haven't figured out how to actually play the sound files but I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard.

All I want to do is make the M2 sound as awesome as it should be.

That is a thing I want to hear. The gorgeous sound of a 155 mm canon.

Use the moddingSuite to extract them. Select a desired file from the list, use the first button from the toolbar called a "Raw data" and than "export".
