Yes, Eugen - the French game developer that makes large-scale and semi-realistic RTS games that have been using the same file format since Eugen's first games, announced that it had decided to switch the format of their sound files to match the game logic files of a first-person action fantasy game made by an American game developer just to confuse whoever tried to mod their game sounds. :lol:

If it's actually a format they've been using for a long time, they did do a modkit for one of their pre-RUSE games IIRC that might be useful.

So apparently, there were mod tools released with the first DLC of Act of War: High Treason. I do know that these same files were used since then but I am not sure is the mod tools work. Time to find out...

last time i checked, act of war had no reference to ESS files. i think it's a new format they made for wargame
