Little Community Contest - New maps

Postby [DAY]Topspin2005 » Fri 13 Feb 2015 12:06

Eugen Systems hopefully deliver in the future some new maps. I think everybody knows that they can't spend that much time for it ... so making new maps from the existing ones seems to be the best solution.

Let's make a little community contest for new maps ( i will check if i maybe get a little price for it 8-) )

Here are the simple rules:
- It's only allowed to make new maps from existing ones (only maps from Wargame - Red Dragon)
- Rotation of maps is allowed
- moving existing sectors and adding new sectors is allowed

I am pretty excited about your ideas ;) 8-)

EDIT: The end of the contest is 21.02.2015
The moderation team or maybe a Focus judge will decide about the winners ;)
Winner will be choosen by the mighty FLX!

Winner gets a free focus home interactive game key (only released games - you can choose the game) ;) 8-)
THX to Epy! 8-)

So will these maps have a chance of being put into the game?

It's not clear from your post.
If there's two kinds of players, those that like challenges and those that want a fair game, pubstomps should make everyone happy.

Can't promise something but of course i will talk with FLX about it ;)
But maybe he isn't able to give an answer yet. The maps are postponed - so there is no decission if or when we get new maps etc ...

So this is nothing official - just an idea from me personally. But maybe it will help Eugen Systems ;)

Okay, I forgot what it was to use.. how do I

1) get a picture of a map without zones showing
2) edit in the zones, I remember somebody had some sort of editor for that specific purpose no?

1.) I think you can make screenshots from replays - if i remember right, the sectors are not shown in any zoom level ...
2.) Everything is allowed (MSPaint , Photoshop, etc.)

Nor FLX nor myself, or anybody else up to our bosses can answer that right now.
It is not outrightly canceled, nor is there any timetable to sneak their development into our schedule right now.

Well then I'll be waiting for an update on the Sandbox mod so I can get a clean 90 degree shot, thank you

This contests is senseless, we need map from WALB and WEE, the rest is lost time. WRD maps are bad designed, with all those rivers

No, if you rotate some maps and make new sectors, there could be some really great maps. If you don't like it - igonore it ;) This is just an idea to get hopefully many more new maps. Eugen Systems aready told the community, that converting maps from Wargame:EE or Wargame:AB will be the same work as making new maps ...

But the bosses also could decide to cancel the new maps, right?
