The battle for Castle Itter, involving the 17th SS Panzergrens (who are confirmed to be in the game) fighting against Heer and US forces in the last days of the war. That's a justification for Red vs Red and Blue, although not in Normandy. I'm sure that the various states that fought on both sides of the conflict, including Italy, France and Romania, would have had Dabrowski's Mazurka style battles against each other too, although I'm not really familiar with them.

Personally I don't tend to have problems with Blue vs. Blue and Red vs. Red scenarios. I can think of them as practice exercises in Southern England and Northern France in the months leading up to the invasion. The commander is envisioning the gore and destruction on your screen but in fact the stack of Riflemen your Fusiliers Marins just wiped out are really getting up, dusting their uniforms off and repairing to the local Ale House.

I am VERY happy to see that other players also miss the ranked mode.

I always thought, that I was the only guy liking and playing the 1v1 matches from there.
And that everybody was hating them, and that I would belong to 1-2% of the players.

Actually, I found this game mode the most sophisticated, to most 'honest' games (with a gentle accept of both that there are no hidden rules) around there and I wish that the other game modes like destruction and economic... everything from the custom bar (maybe not money or victory conditions) could have been played in a ranked mode.... with a proper matchmaking yes!

Edit: The pre-adjusted and noob-filtered lobby games are pretty ugly for non-pre-manipulated games.

By far the most important aspect I hope EugeneSystems implements in SD44... I have been asking for this since the dawn of WGEE and have not had any luck.

On the Paradox Forums I started this same desire... it was the 3rd thread created for SD44 and may have shared OPINIONS on have this as the main function for MP.

Similar to RUSE... an AutoMatch System will be the best thing for MP!!!

Please give us some insight on the MP System is planned to work...

I would say we should put the drama out of ranked, trivialize it.
One solution would be radical but simple : all games are ranked. There's one type of rank per type of game possible (1v1, 2v2, ...). If there are several game mode available (like destruction and conquest), then one of the two is the main one, the other mode leading to friendly matches only.
A less radical solution is to keep the distinction between friendly and ranked but simplify greatly the selection screen to make things as streamlined as possible (see Rocket League).

In any way matchmaking is a must, as is the possibility of creating a party of friend to play together.

i'd like to see them take it a step further and implement dedicated servers for casual games. hosting requirements for servers in wargame were almost negligible, it wouldn't cost them a lot to setup some AWS nodes around the world for their players to actually finish a game without being bogged down by some guy's toaster

So long as they introduce a way of blocking chat, or people. So i don't have to block the same people everygame, or better yet, just turn off chat. Then i'm for it all. I have no desire to read garbage from players who have such little self control they have to mouth off.

I would say the beta should only have matchmaking system and not custom lobbies at all. This way player base start to see sd44 a game were main stuff is the mm matches and not custom matches. Then add custom matches (like we had in wargame) when the game launch as new option that is behind separated menu. Its there but people are courage to play in mm instead.

I just wish all the hopes and wishes for a proper MM system is address - it is a topic that has been posted on both site with a positive view on make the MP experience better... yet no one from the dev team or publishing team has weighed in or even responded to either of the threads... and this is worrisome
