No individual men running around. But you can't group squad together like in Wargame.

You're a big Flames of War fan (love their 15mm mini's), would you say the scale of the game is roughly the same but with bigger playing areas?

No, I paint FoW miniatures but I'm playing another rule (called Blitzkrieg) for I find FoW to be too "gamey" and Warhammer-like with all its special rules, heroes, ... ;)
So, I can't really compare to FoW scale, for I know the rules but have seldom played it. But I think SD44's scale is a bit bigger.
