Draw margin is too wide

Postby Nixon » Sun 14 May 2017 18:21

Hey,

I just finished a match where i had 1083 points compared to 837 of my opponent and it resulted in a draw. I think that this margin is too big to be called a draw.

I would therefor suggest that a difference of <100 points should be called a draw.

10% of the 2500 point limit is still 250 points which could translate into one player leading with 1000p and the other having 750 resulting in a draw.

In my opinion it shouldn't orientate on the point maximum limit but on the leading points.

eh i think 10% isn't unreasonable, it makes tight games more interesting that way.
I hope your buratino's die screaming.

Those 10% are indexed on the victory point limit and not on the players' scores. There is the problem. For a 2500 pts games, you get a draw for a less-than-250 pts difference which is huge.

Ah, i'd never noticed, ok that does sound dumb, it really should be 10% of the highest score in that game.

That said the OP's solution is also perfectly acceptable on reflection.
