It has always been 1200.

It's 1200m now, but I do recall it being 1250...must be going senile.
A Firefly killed Wittman...

It's a 17lbr, not a 76.2mm.

Okay, so with careful screening and mass, CS Churchills have a good chance of breaking through IG 18s; back them up with an AVRE and they can tackle Pak 38s. Still, the infantry guns are pretty powerful little things if you don't have access to the big tanks. I shudder to think how I'm going to handle them as Canada (smoke being a solution...)

The point asymmetry is still there, though, which is one reason they're so good. It's a hell of an efficient unit if, in Phase A, it requires specialized units costing twice as much to dislodge from a defensive line.

Well they should have left the mistake in then.
At 800m range it was a unit sparingly used and I had to actually campaign to have people test it. It was awesome but required some precautions for it to shine, a nice mix of advantages and drawbacks.

At 1000m it became a meme unit that you can sometimes see assault in never ending waves. The poster-boy of brain dead-ness.

And don't get me started on german HMGs...

I'd be quite interested in seeing the dynamic if it were 800m instead of 1000m. It would actually have to work to duel small-caliber flak instead of just blasting them from out of range, for one thing, and it'd have a harder time against Stuarts.

Also, it might provide incentive for players to use the sIG 33. Same range as IG 18, terrible fire rate and accuracy, slow as molasses, and only available when Pak 40s are already there? Hard pass. Nerfing IG 18s might open up a small niche for them (still not a very large one since they're mainly Phase B units, granted).
