M1 Abrams baseline

Postby Boogie Van » Sun 5 May 2013 23:22

Should this be significantly cheaper or have better stats, such as an AP 14-15 gun? In comparison to the Chieftan Mk. 10, the T-80 baseline, the T72B1, and a few other tanks in the price range, the Abrams gets a whole lot of armor and speed for a huge hike in price, when it really doesn't have the bite to make it worth the price tag of 100 points.

It's just the opposite of an AMX 32.

Agreed! But you can also get quite a few of those 100 point abrams. 16 as trained and 12 as hardened where with other tanks you mentioned, they only get 12 as trained and 8 as hardened. I just wanted to bring out a positive aspect as well as any comment with neutral point of view is worth considering ;)

But yes, I would love to see a bit higher AP on that tank and maybe 90 points as price? Though I barely look at the prices anymore because the income is so high. In WEE I rarely had a 100 point tank in my deck, now I have all the bad boys there, Leopard 2A4, Challenger 1 and M1A1 Abrams and I am still left with too many points..

All the heavy tanks are way out of wack price wise.
Infact all 80 point + tanks need massive reworking stats and price...

What I meant by that is that it has its own role, but the combination is flawed... Always better to have a whole package for a specific role, like "Strong front + good gun".

The base abrams is supposed to be tough, with a bad gun... So it should be cheap.
The AMX-32 is supposed to hit hard, but can't take a hit... So it should be cheap.

But if any of these is too cheap, it gets OP. Well, the Abrams being unable to kill much shouldn't make it OP with any decent price.

Make the M1 85 points, and give it 9ACC(Along with M1IP,ofc), and the M1IP at 105/110 points. The super M60 is a 75 point tank, stats wise. Although it does look awesome.

It looks like a mini version of the Maus or E-100.

When considering balance do not forget to account for availability. I'm pretty sure you get more Abrams per deck slot.
