Access Violation (Windows 10)

Postby SheolCTAF » Sun 9 Aug 2015 00:03

I've tried several solutions floating around the forums, Reddit, and Steam to see if they'd have an effect on this issue, and so far there has been no dice. This only began occurring when I updated to Windows 10.

After anywhere between five minutes, to an hour, after starting Wargame: AirLand Battle, the game will "crash" with an error window. Curiously I can go back and play out the rest of a match while this condition exists, only without sound, and the only time it truly crashes is when I exit that match. This also occurs during deck-building.

The content of the error window:
"Version: Final.
ACCESS VIOLATION (Reading 0x142da5e0)" (Along with the date, time, and the directory to which the crash file was dumped)

The link to the crash dump file (In a ZIP folder): https://www.dropbox.com/s/6b5qawc4pil07 ... 0.zip?dl=0

The link to Options.ini and Dxdiag
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3i6lrmxjujbuh1c/Opdx.zip?dl=0 (I would have spoilered it, but it exceeded the maximum number of characters for a post)

What I have tried so far:
Retrying playing with no changes
Verifying game cache via Steam
Updating video drivers (This via the Device Manager and AMD Catalyst)
Changing rendering mode from 'Auto' to 'DX9' and setting to fullscreen, and then to DX11 once more
Updating audio drivers
Playing on reduced quality
Reinstalling Wargame: AirLand Battle
Using compatibility mode for Windows 7

Try compatibility mode
I'm currently running short on time. Hence, it takes some time until I respond. In urgent cases, consider contacting another mod.

I am having the exact same problem. I have not found a solution either. Please post if you do find one. I am thinking about reverting back to windows 8.1 just to fix this. Ugh.

Attempting compatibility mode for Windows 7 (As before) and Windows Vista (A new attempt) hasn't brought about any change unfortunately.

'Tis fine, thank you for the help! Jumping to a new OS has its issues. I'll contact them and come back here if they have a solution.

Anything new on this? I have experienced the same problem with a number of games since I migrated to Windows 10. I have NVidia GTX 660 and 8GB of memory; CPU i5-3570K.

Hello,

I am facing the same problem.

The problem first occured after a new windows 10 update => to Build 14251.rs1_release 160124-1059. I am using the W10 Pro (currently a preview version).

Trying to start Airland Battle leads to the crash. Starting Red Dragon works w/o problem.

I assume that a "roll-back" to a release before should fix the problem.
