Re: Modding Wargame: AirLand Battle

Please stop the Arma bashing, that thing is basically a giant sandbox fully controllable through a built-in scripting language. The thing is any wargamers wet dream with possibilities limited only by your imagination. And Altis is such a breakthrough.

Re: Modding Wargame: AirLand Battle

Yes, modding for a somewhat related game Arma did wonders for that community, even before the glorious DayZ. Given how Eugen always says they don't have resources for new maps and 3d models allowing it would be beneficial I think.

Re: Why conquest fails

The game mode is not bad, the UI hints are sub-optimal, may we need a Clippy popping up in-game with helpful suggestions like "Hey, Player, win the game by capturing more zones then the enemy team!". I mean there are already scary-as-hell nerve wrecking 70-80-90% pop-up alarms.

Re: Supply system need to reform!

What he is asking is abstraction of physical supply trucks that now must be guided by hand to units needing them. In place of that an automated "supply route" from FOB to the front will be established as long as there now enemy units breaking the path. Sortof like trade routes in 4x games,...

Re: So why don't planes take time to appear on the battlefie

IMO, air superiority planes should arrive instantly, but bombers should be delayed. This. I understand that deployment abstraction implies units are hanging out just outside the battle area, maybe it works for the first bomber use, but unless they developed a way to re-arm in-flight they should tak...

No, its 6~8 while T-64/80 is 7~9. So 7 is exactly where it should be.

So T-64/T-80 should be 8?

I'm REALLY hoping Eugen is not planning to nerf ROF of all Soviet T-64/T-80 to 8-9

Re: The limited role of air superiority fighters

with f-14s and mig-31s nerfed/removed i think air superiority fighters will find their role that they were meant to be in in the first place. If air superiority fighters weren't instantly destroyed the moment they decided to chase an enemy towards their air defense network, there might not be a pro...

I think he means that it's a common practice to be already working on the next game before the current is even launched. This has to do with specifics of development life cycle, new ideas cannot go into the current game build after a certain point.

Re: The limited role of air superiority fighters

The best fighter aircraft. Fighters should be the best defense against enemy aircraft, not the division's worth of SAMs many players seem to take with them. This is one of the things I will stress again and again. Players are forced to deploy completely unauthentic amount of AA to ground troops rat...

There are seven in the picture belonging to one player, one was shot down and another one did not fit.
