No, I played quickplay. I'll check again if there's the option to remove the transports, didn't notice any.
EDIT: Ok, yes, I see that now. It's still far too close of a setup position for quickplay/ranked.

Ranked/quickplay setup area
I've been getting back into SD a bit now that I've seen SD2 is coming. One thing that seems strange to me is the change on ranked/quickplay to move the setup area so far forward. Somewhere between where it was and where it is now seems more reasonable, but right now I can spawn stuff that's already ...

Re: Matchmaking for consistent online play
I agree. Matchmaking should be the default. IMO the easiest way to do this is to remove the custom game browser and replace it with a "private game" button where you can invite people through steam. Everything else goes through quick play or ranked. Furthermore, I think it'd be good to all...

Re: Ranked Allies vs. Allies / Axis vs. Axis?
Did ALB really have mirrors? I just found a replay where it did, so I guess it must have. The only way we can have mirrors disallowed and not have all those downsides is to force people to select both an axis and an allied deck and then just search, with the sides being determined randomly. I would ...

Re: Ranked Allies vs. Allies / Axis vs. Axis?
Stupid is the word you are looking for. That whole reasoning is, he is just spining it as basically being a game where there is no tactical choice, no choices in the deck, decision to make. Just a game where you take each of your unit, put them face to face with your oponent's and just watch them g...

Re: Ranked Allies vs. Allies / Axis vs. Axis?
If you know you are facing the exact same stuff vehicle wise, wouldn't positioning be even more important? Positioning mostly matters when: 1) There's more than one significant unit (not the case) 2) You're unseen (not the case) 3) Close-up engagements with slow rotating vehicles (not the case). 4)...

Re: Ranked Allies vs. Allies / Axis vs. Axis?
If the enemy playes the same deck and opens with the same units, why not place the 222 a bit behind the initial engagement zone, waiting for the enemy's. What advantage does this give you? As far as I can tell unless you have other units that can also fire, it's absolutely zero. If the enemy playes...

Re: Ranked Allies vs. Allies / Axis vs. Axis?
I don't buy the trianing argument. It just feels like a cop-out. Especially if half the games are training... I think one of the most fun elements of RTS games is using your strengths against the enemy's weakness, while trying to hide your weakness from their strength. Mirror matches remove this. Th...

Re: Ranked Allies vs. Allies / Axis vs. Axis?
I sure hope not. HS 129 against SS Panzer in Phase A sounds even less fun than the spitfire bomber.
I think it's best if the game is balanced around Axis vs Allies. I also don't enjoy mirror matches.
ALB and EE had it right.

Re: Will This Game Have an Automatch?
It will. As others have said, the problem is popularity. The Wargame community, on the whole, isn't very competative. You'll find automatched games quickly, and a reasonable amount of time they'll be matched fairly on skill, but to get good skill matching you need a lot of players playing ranked. Wa...
