Re: Another hidden bonus to elite infantry

One of the really funny parts of this is that MANPADs get more powerful warheads on the field as they rank up.

Re: Another hidden bonus to elite infantry

AP vs AV is actually given by ripping the game stats. We've had a raw xls table of AP vs. AV for some time. For KE, it follows the formula of (AP+-AV+1)/2=damage. For HEAT it's {(AP+-AV+2)/2=damage IF AP<AV+11, AP+-AV+-4=damage IF AP>AV+10}. I have no idea how you're supposed to know that last part...

DatonKallandor wrote:If I remember it right speed is different for different unit types. 30kph for infantry is not the same in-game speed as 30kph for tanks.

Right right, now i remember, only vehicles have real speeds.

Re: Another hidden bonus to elite infantry

ACTUALLY we now have a really interesting thing to test. To my knowledge the game stores damage to the nearest 0.5, but now we can get totally weird damage values. The ROF stat is a composite of aim time and reload within a magazine and reload without a magazine. And the AP vs Armor values are given...

Re: Another hidden bonus to elite infantry

The armory has always been a lie :( SO FAR all of my math is intact, since I only ever worked with Tanks, which to my knowledge have 'honest' stats. The infantry game has been exceedingly dishonest ever since there was a distinction between different types of infantry weapons (or basically, forever...

Re: Another hidden bonus to elite infantry

This is baffling and aggravating. It's bad enough that the unit statline doesn't include veterancy in its accuracy, but this is completely undocumented. One of the best things new players have told me is that they love that the unit card has everything, and I hate telling them it has everything*. Th...

Re: Post your questions to the beta testers!

To be clear about the type restrictions, it was a drop down, not a check list, so you couldn't make "Marine or Moto or Mech Not Support nor Armor nor Airborne nor Typeless" for example. I know the default was 'anything goes' but there was one listed choice that i couldn't figure out if it ...

Re: Post your questions to the beta testers!

No.... this is wrong. It's a weapon that attacks missiles. It can target one missile at a time and takes a second or two to shoot down one missile before switching targets to the next missile. Don't be pedantic. Given the near perfection of CIWS at shooting down low-density missile fire, my metapho...

Re: Post your questions to the beta testers!

I really liked the "hard cap" deck system. You do get through 60 points pretty convincingly, because the price escalation is much sharper than in ALB (no slot has more than one 1AP slot, compare to 4x1AP slots for Armor in ALB; from a memory which is not the best, slots were usually 1 2 2 ...

Re: Post your questions to the beta testers!

Has the role of tanks been diminished since ALB? You kind of can't walk without tripping over high-end ATGM systems, but it mostly winds up with tanks being a little less of a "I take either the heaviest weapon i can, or the lightest" and more "what is the absolute cheapest unit i ca...
