Re: Power creep?

You understand me, morpher. Anyway: Recon tanks is something someone brought up earlier. I admit I don't know anything about the recon tanks in the game, but I will say that it's a potential minefield when anything in the Tank tab has mediocre to poor optics as a rule of thumb. It's possible that th...

Re: Power creep?

The new factions are too tuned for the meta. So, basically, we are being blamed here for having worked on what we've been criticized before regarding minor nations? ;) Don't be like that, Mat. Reiterating again: this isn't about the game now, it's about looking forward, and asking if next time we c...

Re: Power creep?

I'd like to remind everyone that you're all petty idiots. Sorry, irony, can't help it. Anyway, let's try and bring this topic back on track. I'm not asking changes be made. I'm not arguing that the US should get such and such a toy. What I AM saying is that Eugen have been inconsistent in their appr...

Re: Power creep?

If there's powercreep in the DLCs its because eugen have a better grasp of the meta than before. For example, every DLC nation comes with a recon tank, and some powerful infantry combo. This clashes with older nations that were not designed to the meta. That by definition makes major nations noncom...

Re: Power creep?

Wargame 4 hypothetically wouldn't be any different, I imagine. This isn't the kind of game where a US Armored battalion with attached assets fights for a border city occupied by recently arrived VDV infantry who are waiting for the main armored breakthrough that was reported in a neighboring sector...

Power creep?

Eugen (sorry MadMat <3 ) has sort of failed to provide a unified balancing direction going forward. Minor nations are increasingly overmodelled, both from a quantity and quality perspective. Originally, minors had overmodelled infantry to compensate for a lack of top tier units. Now we're seeing ove...

Re: Ludic play, replayability, and redesigning Wargame's metaplay premises

I'm personally envisioning something along the lines of strategic strikes to find and destroy HQ's, in preparation for an attack, making hard decisions relating to how you choose to deploy your HQ's, that sort of thing. Ideally, auras are wide enough to avoid unnecessary micro. So with intensive us...

Re: Ludic play, replayability, and redesigning Wargame's metaplay premises

3. Out-of-Command Penalties If you want to be able to command your units, you should have it in range of your command units' auras. I'm thinking two things: STATIC HQ'S: FOB-style, immobile Headquarters With very large auras, but at risk of being identified and destroyed. MOBILE HQ'S: Command units...
