Well they did use the IS-7 during the 70's and 60's and were planing on making IS-10's Oh yes, they were in use in the 1960s and 1970s, as static pillboxes along the Soviet-Chinese border starting in the early '60s and as late as 1978 in the Far Eastern military districts in inactive reserves.
