Play the game and lose alot, eventually you'll figure it out.

The problem is the design of multiple fights over the same maps, often ending in unsatisfying draws, is boring. I 'get' the campaign and it's bad.

Naw, the rate of fire makes them really useful for nailing expensive stuff which can take more than one missile anyway.

Because rank is an utterly meaningless assessment of skill. Once again, who are you to tell people that they shouldn't be allowed to not play with certain people simply because you personally think that the criterion these people apply to determine what people to exclude is worthless? All I'm sayin...

Well, that doesn't have much to do with newbies abandoning the game because they're being shouted at, does it? They're going to quit the game if they get kicked before the game starts because of their rank too. Just make some friends and play team games, then you don't have to worry about your team...
