Re: Dealing with cannon-heavy Axis starters

I see no mention of smoke. Have you tried that?

Re: How to transform...

It may have something to do with the download region for Steam. Go into the Steam settings, downloads, and select a different region/country. That might do it.

Re: Can you fix the broken model with Last DLC

Can you give us an exact unit (transport + passenger unit), and its division, with which this bug happens? 3rd Armored: Scouts in jeep, Armored Rifles in M3HT, Armored Leader in M3HT, M1 Gun 57mm in jeep 2nd Infantry: M1 Gun 57mm in jeep 4th Armored: M1 Gun 57mm in M3HT, Armored LMG Rifles in M3HT ...

Re: Can you fix the broken model with Last DLC

I am not using mods and I have noticed the same thing: British troops instead of Americans when they are units being transported (infantry and AT guns, as far as I´ve noticed, might be more). I think it happens on all vehicles. Not sure if just in the 3rd Armored.

Re: Commercial success of different Eugen games

But this was well thought out by Eugen's game designer. You are not supposed to make 1v1 engagement you are supposed to stun (or so I presume) with fire support so you are shooting at clay pigeons and not an actual opponent. The problem is that being on the receiving end of this process is also imm...

Re: What worked and what didn't of Steel Division's innovations?

The deck system is more focused, the phase system gives a more natural and fair feel to battles, air battles are not RNG, the speed of units is appropriate and with no fuel system allows one to maneuver pretty well... oh, and the LOS system is far, far, far superior to Wargame, with hedges, building...

Re: What worked and what didn't of Steel Division's innovations?

Yeah you can completely ignore any kind of tactics/micro/macro aspects as long as you choose the correct army composition first, and there's nothing the opponent can do against this. That is a bit of an exaggeration. What I mean is that when an RTS presents a technological curve together with an ec...

Re: What worked and what didn't of Steel Division's innovations?

[*]The phase system. For example, look at every other RTS ever. In other RTS the player decides when they want to get into the next tech level, not the game. At which point the game stops being about tactics and becomes all about who can choose the correct army composition to win against the enemy ...

Re: Bringing the Frontline System to Wargame

There is no point in bringing the Frontline system to RD if you don´t bring whatever else makes it work in SD. The slow speed of units so flanking has to be done well if you want the best results, the LOS-blocking terrain and scouting system so you can´t stop those telegraphed flanking maneuvers by ...

They nerfed heavy off-map artillery, planes and CQC infantry. That seems pretty meaningful to me, seeing how they targeted some of the things people were complaining the most about in terms of balance.
