Re: 4 Theses on ANZUS to complement or replace NORAD

USA are pretty appropriately modeled in Wargame since they well represent the awesome cutting edge equipment the US had at the time Like what? The Schlongbow? Patriot? Memehawk? In fact, I'd say that it's the USSR that dabbles in the area of "cutting edge equipment" rather than the US. Th...

Re: 4 Theses on ANZUS to complement or replace NORAD

i rather see NORAD removed and USA becomes standalone like USSR NORAD is currently fine, its pretty well balanced at the moment and besides, USA would need some serious buff's for them to get on the same level as USSR. USA are pretty appropriately modeled in Wargame since they well represent the aw...

Re: 4 Theses on ANZUS to complement or replace NORAD

An ANZUS coalition could be an interesting idea so there's I few things I want point out for the sake of discussion. 1) i- ANZUS was (and largely remains) a strong, long-lived defense pact that defined the Cold War in the Asia-Pacific region, and the continuing foreign policy of Australia (and in ob...

Re: aussie paratroops

Forests, urban areas do favor spetsnaz because fixed firing position means that the fires started by RPO do hurt quite a bit. Might have to diagree with that. Spetz/li jian 90 become pretty hopeless if they are engaged in cqc cause they cant fire their napalm launcher. Admittedly you do need a cqc ...

Anyone worth their salt should know that this is the easiest way to deal with infantry who don't have anti-tank weapons.

Re: aussie paratroops

My dude, are you kidding me? It would be relatively under-powered and mid-tier, I mean, better at infantry cost-effectiveness than NORAD, but with few units outside Commandos 90, Leopards, F-111C, Vickers, maybe NZSAS or 20pt Man Katti, that ANZAC would actually contribute. ANZAC needs some major b...

Re: aussie paratroops

An IFV would make a huge difference to the viability of Anzac, i would take that any day over the Vickers Mk11 or the bloody M113 milan. If only Anzac fanboys had access to as many sekrit documents as the Yugoboo's the world of Wargame would be a better place :P If only ANZAC had anything resemblin...

Re: aussie paratroops

ANZUS Coalition when? I've thought of this much and had discussions with friends of mine an we've generally concluded that while an ANZUS coalition would be historically fitting it would probably be one of the most powerful coalitions wargame has ever seen. In fact dare I say maybe even more powerf...
