Re: Armory tool

If anyone else is still wondering how to get rid of this: "Failed reading ZZ_Win.dat. May have selected an incomplete one - try pointing settings.ini to a complete ZZ_WIn.dat file." Check your 'settings.ini' in your armory folder and change line 2 zz. It needs to be pointed to the newest p...

Re: [MOD] Wargame: 1991

Cool stuff. Seems you've been up to some things while I was busy elsewhere. A couple points: - Why is the light machine gun/squad automatic weapon more accurate than the general purpose one? In my personal experience GPMs are really, really accurate. Stabiliser for LMGs should be enough for differen...

Re: Frontline issues

For me, personally, the problem is the "all-knowing" attitude of the frontline, in where it is not unique to the player's perspective. What I mean by that is the frontline takes both mine and the opponent's units into consideration, regardless, if my units know they are there or not. It to...

Re: About the promised buffs to RD

Its paradox publishing sd not focus home interactive. And paradox games have A LOT dlcs and A LOT of dump dlcs and A LOT P2W dlcs. Tho most paradox games have been different from sd but time will tell. This is a bit offtopic but somehow people seem to disregard the fact that if Eugen is going to fo...

Re: Why did matchmaking (ranked) fail?

If games are only balanced on team vs team we are going to have 1pro with 3 noobs vs 4 regulars. Those games are not fun for anyone. Even if you think you have a normal spread in 1v1, let's say 4 ranks above and 4 ranks(or 400 MMR, whatever) below the rating of the searching player, this allows for ...

Re: Why did matchmaking (ranked) fail?

I have yet to see a failed 1v1 matchmaker implementation. They fail because the playerbase is too low which in turn causes the matchmaking parameters to be out of sync leading to long wait times and/or uneven games. As long as there is a suitable amount of active players they all work more or less f...

Re: What would you do if Eugen hired you to remake every infantry tab from scratch?

Yes USMC would be better than almost all of the nations but it would be worse than the USA without providing anything to the game. This is why I don't see it as useful. If we replace the normal USA with it completely then yes, it will work. But there's no reason to add it with USA already in. But th...

Re: What would you do if Eugen hired you to remake every infantry tab from scratch?

Independent maneuvers are not independent operations. That is defined by the level of war they usually operate at. Strategic->operational->tactical Conquer Korea->Capture Seoul->Battle for Seoul Regiment is the largest of what we consider units. Brigade is the smallest of what we consider formations...

Re: What would you do if Eugen hired you to remake every infantry tab from scratch?

Regiments are not capable of independent operations by definition so it doesn't work. That is why brigade, as the smallest operative part is what I chose. It's not like US battalions could operate on their own either, they needed cross battalion detachments to operate so I wouldn't be too concerned ...
