Re: [Now in Red Dragon] FINLAND
Here's a photo of a Hawk 51 with some British bombs. This was something that was never openly published back in Cold War, as the Paris Peace Treaty forbad Finland from possessing bombs. Nevertheless, Finland bought British bombs (of multiple sizes), in the photo there are 8x 250 lb general purpose b...

Re: [Now in Red Dragon] FINLAND
I'll continue the artillery/mortar writeup later, but here are some interesting videos regarding the T-72M1 FINMOD project: 5iYvawRr1JU kNKbmVYwPsk The third is at the beginning about the PT-91M, but at 5:03 begins the part of the T-72M1 FINMOD: X3LXoG3BWyI They are about the powerpack upgrade of th...

Re: DLC Balance Patch
Finland - BMP-1 rof reduce from 10 to 9 - BMP-2 stat clones East German SPz BMP-2 - Remove ITO 96 (was a debt payment from the USSR) - Give Mig-29 to North Korea (Finland never owned Mig-29) - Remove AIM-120, OOTF (1998) While wanting authenticity at the same time as balance, you have to remember t...

Re: Suggestion: rearming system.
This is indeed a good idea.
I've also thought that it'd be nice to be able to prevent ground fire in some mainly AA systems (namely ADATS and Starstreak) in some cases where you don't want them wasting ammo, but that'd make another suggestion. It could however be implemented in a similar fashion.

Re: [Now in Red Dragon] FINLAND
In another thread I wrote that I'd write here an even more in-depth writing of the Finnish artillery and mortar industry and the Finnish-Israeli artillery industry cooperation between Tampella and Soltam than Sleksa has written here, so here it is now. My sources are mostly the same, the book "...

Re: Future DLC’s for Wargame Red Dragon
Tampella was indeed a fairly massive influence on the world of mortars through shell companies like deutam(deutsche tampella), portam (portugese tampella), tamares in england as well as salgad in luxemburg (selling mortars to sweden still in the 70's) and soltam in israel. The germans have been usi...

Re: Future DLC’s for Wargame Red Dragon
This was my take on Finland before the poll: - no domestic equipment whatsoever besides the XA-180/185 (and it is already ingame) - most of its units are already present in the game - operate mostly obsolete hardware, especially Air Force, so not competitive as a standalone nation... unless Eugen i...

Re: [Now in Red Dragon] FINLAND
The BMP-1 which were acquired from GDR stocks however at the end of the Cold War, were modified to the BMP-1PS standard between 1993 and 1996 (and the missile launcher was changed from the standard 9M14 Malyutka to the new 9P135M-1 Konkurs launcher), so the system was easier to use (I've yet got to...

Re: [Now in Red Dragon] FINLAND
Here's a picture of a BMP-2 in Finnish service with the launcher for the 9M113 Konkurs (PSTOHJ 82M) missiles attached. On a reasonable number of the vehicles they were kept as long as the acquired missiles had shelf life left, and were scrapped just in the 2000's. https://i.imgur.com/RHG6Jgil.jpg S...
