Well we make sure it has the range, accuracy and pen appropriate to the system which should make sure it performs passably in the anti armor role, and then make peace with the fact that it's just never going to be good at high levels of HE output.

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

High ROF cannons should be better at unloading HE at close range against infantry squads, not at killing vehicles when compared to other slower cannons. Why should a slower cannon be any better at killing vehicles (on a general basis) other than for the perception that they are supposedly "mor...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

yeah but in Russian tanks having moving parts like that you better not be too tall or have long limbs :) low profile makes things cramped and dangerous inside From how tightly you're packed into a T-64/72/80 turret station I find it difficult to see how a person could get their arm caught in the au...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

I wouldn't mind, but there should still some variety in accuracy, like 10 -15 accuracy difference from the most accurate to the least accurate in the same generation. but ofc the least accurate one will have other advantages like AP, range or speed. Soviet missiles having more range strikes me as p...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

I guess it would come down to simply being a matter of EUGEN flavor for why the accuracy is the way it is. Bumping down all TOWs by 10% wouldn't phase me at all, as long as the carriers also received the TOWs they should have. Also, the Bushmaster could use some love as well... ducks from Mike's wr...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

yeah but a missile is not the easiest thing to spot however in game you can see all munitions launched at any distance.. I think at that range all missiles besides spike and nimrod would be to easy to dodge anyway. You'd have what feels like half an hour to react as it has twice the travel time and...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

Speed on most MCLOS systems has been poor and does not necessarily have to be buffed if the range on those systems was expanded further to their on average 3000m max range. I feel like a lot of the issues faced by atgm vehicles is the very small difference between atgm stand off range and tank gun r...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

I remember the whine about how laser accurate ATGM basically shut down any tank usage and eugen decided to introduce the multi-hitroll checks to make more breathing rooms for tanks which did turn out decent for gameplay. The TOW2 is indeed a quite odd outlier, never really understood why it is so m...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

The A-6 could conceivably be cloned and re-rolled into an AGM-84E SLAM carrier for teh lolz.

As far as optics on tanks go, the Yugo dlc went into really dangerous territory. Very good, let alone exceptional optics on Heavy/Superheavy MBTs will be cancerous absent a wider rework of unit vision.
