Re: Bulgaria: some aircraft loadout suggestions for wargame 4 and more

So it made very theoratical to use well R-23T because it was not all aspect IR AAM. Likely this is the reason why did not got R-27T the MiG-29 9.12/13 because it is pointless to sacrifice your all aspect SARH BVR missile to a quite hypotetical silent intercept capability. As I said was theoretical....

Re: Bulgaria: some aircraft loadout suggestions for wargame 4 and more

Every once in a while you find a gem. This is in my wished for loadouts file :( Su-17M4 with 4xR-24 http://www.airwar.ru/photo/su17/su17_9.jpg Also... Since the insistence that the Su-24 use the Kh-28 instead of Kh-58... I've always wondered why can't we have 4 ARMs like the Kh-25MP or Kh-27PS which...

Re: Bulgaria: some aircraft loadout suggestions for wargame 4 and more

It's a shame that more can't be done with rockets in the AP department because the Su-17/22 is a great rocket truck. That being said the WarPac proclivity for high caliber rockets has been seriously under exploited, Does anyone have photos of B-13Ls on a Su-17? http://aviadejavu.ru/Images6/MM/MM-132...

Re: Bulgaria: some aircraft loadout suggestions for wargame 4 and more

MiG23ML 2xR-24T 2xR-24R This could be a cheap equivalent to the Soviet MiG-25PD Was very rare loadout in RL. Did that require the mounting of special pylons on the fuselage? I haven't found any photographs of this loadout (and indeed the trade-off was being short four potentially more reliable R-60...

Who did it first?

Was watching a quick little film on MICLICs and the assault breacher when I was reminded of something I saw on some old exercise footage. Apparently they put plows and PW LWDs on T-55s and T-72s, assault breacher that can fight! Pretty much a pointless variant but still very cool, far more survivabl...

Re: Eugene Systems on Strike?

Would just like to correct one detail in the above: Well considering the record with the curious and (in my opinion) damaging choices that were made to pursue AoA and the Paradox merger , A merger is (typically) when two companies are fused together into a single legislative entity and the ownershi...

Re: Fine-tuning NK/China

Still can't get over the AGL on the SPG/H.... Manpads make sense but why the heck do you need the AGL, the KPVT would likely still be better even in the assault gun role and it is actually useable against helicopters and light CAS. And if the gunner wants to use one of those bolt-ons he is going to...

Re: Bulgaria: some aircraft loadout suggestions for wargame 4 and more

Bulgaria operated 4 MiG-23 fighter versions, the MF, ML, MLA, and MLD. This could increase variety in the Bulgarian aircraft roster when its lacking elsewhere. Here are 4 unique loadouts: MiG23MF- 4xR-60 2xR-13 MiG23ML 2xR-24T 2xR-24R This could be a cheap equivalent to the Soviet MiG-25P I fear th...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

Re: Eugene Systems on Strike?

Well considering the record with the curious and (in my opinion) damaging choices that were made to pursue AoA and the Paradox merger, I'm not surprised to hear that there are issues with (at best) aloof and detached management. (I have no knowledge of what actually goes on at Eugen, I have been pla...
