Re: The role of the Navy

(3) : remove landing troops, from the marine section and put them to their sections (tanks to tanks with an option to take landing boats and inf to inf with landing boats; etc.) (4) : than limit the marine section to 5 like the others and give them points per card like (2;3;3;4;4) or (3;3;4;4;5). a...

Re: The reasons naval units were a bad idea

I am not sure that integration in the normal decks is a solution. Care to elaborate? Sure. I was meaning "integration in the common system of points for slots ". For the same reason it is a bad idea to mix big ships and petty riverine ships: as big ships are so powerfull and with all poss...

This may lessen to some degree the current issues surrounding naval units, however only full integration into the deck system in the same manner as the eight other unit categories will produce a desirable outcome.

Re: The reasons naval units were a bad idea

And perhaps making sure the naval deck is actually.. a bit.. constrained for Activation points so you hav to pick and choose just like you do with your land deck? I certainly agree with your line of thought in this regard. I would like to see Eugen implement naval units in the same manner as all ot...

Re: Closed Beta Videos from [DAY]

You mentioned in the video that Red Dragon has a slower pace than AirLand Battle, closer to European Escalation. Could you qualify this by explaining how Red Dragon is slower?

Re: Can't people understand what a (closed) BETA is?

For those outside the closed beta, the forum is one of the few means through which they can potentially influence the development of the game. Developers are usually unwilling to alter gameplay mechanics once the closed beta has concluded. In this sense, the introduction of naval units in particular...

Re: I feel misled

Don't forget about the fact that, under current plans, the marine category is not limited by the same activation point limit as the other eight categories are . The way in which naval units have been introduced into the deck system is rather strange - the developers need to take a step back and reth...

Re: Does naval categorisation undermine deck philosophy?

From what I have seen of the Red Dragon closed beta in livestreams so far, my concerns would appear to be well-founded. The presence of sea-borne and sea-centric non-ship units in the marine category would appear to undermine the deck philosophy of Wargame up to this point. I hope that the developer...

Re: Does naval categorisation undermine deck philosophy?

Here's a thought. Give the naval units their own point activation system and create sub categories for different naval unit types. I know what you're trying to say, but I don't think it would work in-engine. This really seems to be the best idea for the engine, which is pretty sad. I have no knowle...
