Re: 2nd Infantry Indianhead

I'm right there with you. Steel Division is another example of Eugen's problem with balancing games on release. While it's much better than the beginning of Red Dragon, Steel Division really needs a large discussion and balance patch. Given how long it took last time, it's probably going to be month...

Re: Bail out, tracks broken and other crits affter succesfull bombing and rocket run.

Yea if they were moving, most of the time in Steel Division they are staying still, they cant fire on the move, and if the bomb hits it should still do damage And if they're standing still. Getting direct hits in WWII with even one iron bomb on a moderately sized hardened target like a tank is prac...

Re: Bail out, tracks broken and other crits affter succesfull bombing and rocket run.

Man if planes didnt kill anything why did the Germans only move at night and spend alot of their time camouflaging there vehicles and positions specifically so they didnt get bombed Tanks tend to be in formations with lots of squishier things. . if 2500 pounds of bombs land on or next to a tank the...

Re: Query about SEAD AP values

penetration matters little really. the lightest one is a 180kg missile with a 70kg HE warhead. No tank would survive a direct hit. it's not equivalent to say the AGM-65 airplane I have to ask because this seems contradictory to me: If a 70kg HE warhead could total kill a tank, why aren't there more...

Re: Let vehicles recover from "Bailed out" critical

I've seen several references to hiding under the tank for Russians and Americans. They tended to do that if there was no nearby alternative, such as if there was a machine gun covering the tank or they were under significant fire. They would be hoping o God that the ammunition wouldn't brew up or th...

Re: The Panther Problem and You! (12th SS)

This included map balance suggestions (mostly on the marshal's forum), generic gameplay things/bugfixes like the infopanel abuse, a total tank & aircraft rework, infantry weapons rework, availability reworks, complete redoing of the deck system to get rid of predominantly mixed nato decks, as w...

Re: What's broken...Planes or AAA

It's thoroughly broken, but German AA being crap is just icing on the cake. I don't think any flak has a suppression AOE .

Re: What's broken...Planes or AAA

After getting out of 10v10s to get a handle on gameplay, I tried a 2v2 as the German Armored Division and Luftlande vs two 2ID. I faced off his town assault. As predicted, the infantry unit did fairly well against Panzergrenadiers (not many complaints there). Then they proceeded to buy nothing but p...

Re: USA: Why the hate?

I think the US is fun to play, personally. I think it's because I'm more familiar with their weapons, but I've been trying to move away from them, actually. I started with Commonwealth, since I am fairly familiar with their weapons, too. It all comes down to personal preference, though, which might...

Re: USA: Why the hate?

Delta used to be worse, with a 1970s M72 LAW which frankly made it harder for Delta to do their job. At that point in time, they were roundly considered one of the worst SF in the game. With the Carl Gustav Buff, it seems like Delta can actually do a good job at attacking enemy lines since now 1-2 a...
