Re: Any counter against totally OP arty?

I guess the arty would just fire over the mountain wouldnt it? Yeah, but to be fair they'd have to fire at the high elevation rather than the low one for a given range, so shells would take a lot longer to land in a shaddow behind the mountain, and if maximum range (45 degree) shots would impact th...

Re: Top Tier Units

I think they are worth it! As most people said you just have to be smart how you used them. In my last game i used 4 top teir Abrams (135pts ea) and about 5 mortar tanks to kill tons of t62's through to t80's. The best strat with them is to move backwards while shooting and the mortars stun and pan...

Re: Damn the arty spammers

Played a 3 player game last night, and at the start two of the players fired 8-12 of the highest 152mm Soviet artillery (name escapes me atm) at my starting zone, for a good 30-60 seconds. By the time the shots landed, me entire starting force had already left the sector, and none of the shots lande...

Re: Win Conditions

I would love to play against any of you players who are claiming that sitting in your starting zone is the best plan. By playing intelligently, I can pick off all of your recon units, have my own in position, and be able to call in corrected fire on...well, whatever I feel like, really. If you've on...

Re: Damn the arty spammers

All they need to do, is make the Artillery more expensive, that way, people will pretty much limit themselves to 1 arty piece, rather then 3 or 4, with tons of tanks and infantry supporting them. I would hardly consider 3-4 pieces to be "spam". When I provide all of the operational artill...

Re: Picking The Brits (NATO)

How's this for an idea - a second level of SAS to unlock which has a Stinger. It could just be an upgrade of the existing cards, so it wouldn't take up an additional deck slot, but it'd allow for more flexibility (in the campaign, too, since later on you could get fancy new AA missiles when they bec...

Re: T-55 rushes

Rolling backwards with stabalised tanks is a great idea - I'm going to have to try that next time I'm faced with that (or something like it). Quick question, though - how do you ensure that your tanks don't turn around and present their rears to the enemy? They're often pretty good about reversing, ...

Re: Damn the arty spammers

Heh, looks like I forgot to put up the replay. Maybe tonight. Warbadger, the best way to find enemy recon units is with your recon units. Recon is an area in which every deck should be fairly heavily invested. I played an EXCELLENT game last night, the most balanced and skillful (on both sides) game...

Re: Should FOBs have a way to regenerate supply?

... 2. we need a feature that can return/recycle supply tracks off-map ... This! A thousand times this! If you don't even deploy a FOB at the start, then you really just have useless empty trucks knocking around. I'm sure that there are other parts of the front which are desperately short on trucks...

Re: T-34/85

Personally I love the T-34/85 - I unlocked both of them so that I have more available, in case I need them. Because they're so cheap, and they're acceptably armed, they can take out enemy APCs and dismounted infantry fairly well. I often have a platoon of 4 of them parked back by my arty & FOBs ...
