Re: Asymetric balance of Jerries VS allies in Normandy 44

What I would do, by shamelessly stealing Salamander´s idea, is make Allied ground attack planes reach the map faster and attack areas like he suggested to represent the "taxi" system the Allies had going on. On the other hand, German ground attack planes would work the way they currently d...

Re: Asymetric balance of Jerries VS allies in Normandy 44

I find that air game is less than exciting. Once people get the ball rolling, there is little you can do to stop plane trains due to the slow points buildup. Personally, I think planes should be made weaker and cheaper. Or some sort of asymmetrical balance established for the AA game. Germans having...

Re: Strategic Layer

I remember playing a game that let you draw on the map so you could mark approaches and defensive lines, but I cannot remember what game it was at all. Not a bad function to add, honestly.

Re: King Tiger armor vs Jumbo armor

How likely was it for tank warfare in WWII to devolve into a match of War Thunder where people would be aiming for very small weak spots somehow known to them despite their engagements against these machines probably being the first time their forces ever fought them?

Re: Let vehicles recover from "Bailed out" critical

The problem with your dramatic description of being fired upon in a tank in this conversation is that the prevailing idea here was allowing a tank to recover from a "bailed out" after an extended period of time not being shot at, not in the midst of combat. I don´t know if it already happ...

Re: PzGren, regarding pricing and 'flavour'

50% extra cost should arguably translate into 50% better performance And if Steel Division seemed like it was going that way for balance, I would endorse this idea. However, I don´t think it is. The balance is asymmetrical, so units being more expensive for a worse performance is perfectly possible...

Re: Let vehicles recover from "Bailed out" critical

I am not an expert in WWII by any means, but... I would argue that if a crew bails out of a tank, they have already done the "how safe am I in here" calculation, and the result is pretty clear: they are not. Imagine you are in a tank. Crew compartments are small, cramped, dark spaces. You ...

Re: Let vehicles recover from "Bailed out" critical

The thing that´s strange about it is that the crew is bailed out but the vehicle is still taking up space in the UI as if it was active.

That said, I think one of my tanks recovered from a bail out status, but I cannot guarantee it 100%.

Re: The Panther Problem and You! (12th SS)

The game will be balanced around 1v1, simple as that. Are you a dev, or are you just projecting what you want into this? If you want 1v1 balance, I suggest you pick up Wargame Red Dragon, which is pretty much that (and it is from there that a number of its hugest problems stem from). SD does not se...

Re: Historical accuracy

I feel they are going more for flavour than strict realism. Which I´m fine with, because in Wargame Red Dragon they kind of did the opposite and as a result made decks pretty bland: you either played the major factions with all the unicorns, or you got clobbered for playing specialized/non-major dec...
