Re: Mechanic / Systematic changes for next WG

Wargame is not a simulator, it is, uh... a game. I don't think Eugen ever intended to create a mil-sim RTS, it's really just a game with some "realistic flavour", and I hope that the next Wargame will continue to be that way. I do however agree that infantry needs a rework. Afaik they are ...

Re: What if: more penalties for mixed decks?

I'd even go as far as throwing mixed decks (i.e. decks that are both unspecialised and non national) completely out of the game.

Re: Map Patch / Linux

Anything from Eugen regarding this topic??? Four days have passed and yet you asked again. Seriously? Also, you should know the answer to this question, given that you're not new to this forum: when it's done. We all know the answer but we want to hear it from Eugen. On graphics cards: the AMD open...

Re: Map Patch / Linux

I have a GTX 960, it works fine on Linux (kernel 4.1) with recent proprietary nvidia drivers. The GTX 970 has better bang for your bucks, but afaik it needs power from two 6-pin cables, whereas the GTX 960 only needs one. Wargame runs well, too, it should be a lot faster than your 660. However, it d...

Re: Map Patch / Linux

Ah, that is indeed a good explanation! The "hardcoding" could also be the reason why it is so time consuming to create new maps. There might be even more differences under the hood. I guess the biggest issue is OpenGL vs. DirectX. Effectively, the game runs slower on OpenGL (Linux) than on...

Map Patch / Linux

Dear Eugen,

Any news on when the Linux version of the patch will be out?
From a technical point of view, why don't you release the patch for all systems at the same time?

Thx.

Re: [RD] Patch v.626 / MAP PATCH #1

Any news re the patch for Linux users?
I received a rather small update yesterday evening, but it wasn't the map/balance patch, at least nothing has changed in-game.
Maybe a "preparation" patch for the map patch?

Re: [Linux] Crash/Freeze on Linux 3.18

Well, I didn't get an answer from EUG Tech (which I didn't expect, anyway...)
Fortunately, with Linux 4.1 the game crashes less often, but when it crashes, this time it crashes completely.

[Linux] Crash/Freeze on Linux 3.18

Hello, I experience mostly random crashes on Linux while doing skirmish against AI. It's not a complete crash, it's the interface that becomes unresponsive. The ingame time freezes but I can still select units, see their stats, or press ESC to go to menu. However, clicking on surrender does exactly ...

Re: POLL: Intermediary results

Maybe the most vocal ones and the majority are two different things ...

I agree 100%. Like ever so often in life.
Anyway, it's great that we get new maps, and to be honest, every new addition is a big bonus and I'm happy whatever the choice will be :)
