Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

Abrams can take a few hits frontally however once its hp is depleted it will die, and the hostile evildoer will get precisely and exactly the total sum of points as paid by the Abrams owner at the time of purchase, as per the Destruction clause. Also if the HP drops below 50% it will catch fire for...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

I thought Milan-2 was supposed to have around 800mm penetration? The Abrams shrugs off some of the most powerful ATGM's from the front for sure, but reports in Yemen seem to indicate that the Houthi's have been able to penetrate Saudi M1A1's from the side (Keep in mind that the Saudi M1's aren't as...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

Shouldn't Milan 2 and Konkurs-M be able to do it? News reports never mention the exact model and only say Milan, but I think Germany delivered the Milan 2 to the Peshmerga. The M1A1 is supposed to be have 800-900mm, Milan 2 is around 600mm, more for the tandem warhead. I suspect the Abrams was desi...

Re: Fine-tuning NK/China

I'm convinced you can't reasonably make a model out of this shittier quality image, now can you? I mean, you could just make a generic truck model and stick the launcher on top of it and it would look fine to me. There were a few posts about models but let's be honest the problem(s) are the stats. ...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

I wish I could find out whether the Bastion system was ever used in combat (or 9K112 in fact)? In concept at least it was a great resurrection of everything from the T-55/62 to the MT-12, as well as providing a great under armor ATGM to the BMP-3. Problem is every conflict those platforms have been...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

This would allow for fixes for so many tanks, to use the previously mentioned T-55AM/T-62M as an example they could receive good accuracy from their Volna FCS but suffer in the aimtime due to the analogue nature of their FCS and its lesser level of integration compared to something like 1A33. If th...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

I just want to add a few more things to what Fade and Guggy have said. While I think it's difficult to argue for differences in aim times there could be a general increase to 2 or 3 seconds. The reason I chose the M60A2 was that tank had a more advanced system than any other US tank at the time, yet...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

Much agreed though the T-55/62 are utterly superfluous by the time we get around to RD. The Era breakdown for newer nations like Israel is weighted much higher towards CatB/CatA than the EE/ALB holdovers for sure The variants with Bastion/Sheksna would be fine if those missiles were actually good, ...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

For all intents and purposes T-55s and 62s were removed from the main forces in europe as they were outdated. In fact by the late 70's and 80's almost all soviet forces in Europe had T-64s and T-80s with T-72s being mostly used by second and third echelon units, thus replacing the T-55s and 62s tha...

Re: Maybe the USMC was right to go with the M103?

Buffing early Rarden to 3AP as well would be nice considering the ammo was the same as the late one. In fact there is no late one since the Warrior also carried the L21A1. Maybe the better accuracy on the Warrior is justified by it's optics but anyway early Rarden should be very accurate, almost as...
