Give them the Minimi and they'd be decent at 35pts.

Re: Vehicle size rebalance

Thus you shouldn't count inert cross sections / volumes. The blue areas: I dunno, some of those blue areas seem like they could cause crits at the very least, by hitting fuel, sighting systems, etc. Plus the target remains fully functional right up until the last HP is gone, so hits to inert parts ...

Re: aussie paratroops

ANZAC already has good infantry, if they get any new units I'd rather they address areas where the faction is actually deficient.

Re: If the timeline was extended to 1997, what prototypes would become suddenly available?

I'll go against the grain here and say I'd rather see the year pushed back. Pick a single year (no Cat-A,B,C) from before the Cold War ended; anything in service that year is fair game, anything else isn't. That way there's none of this hypothesizing about what would and wouldn't have entered servic...

Re: Bug/Inconsistency Thread.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, Yugoslavian Padobranci '90 infantry have a carbine that still has SMG rate of fire rather than slightly more than assault rifle. Same with ANZAC Commandos '90.

Re: Tank gun accuracy, or how I learned to stop worrying and love Airland Battle tank balance

ATGMs were overegged as a threat in 1991. They can be suppressed by artillery and smoke much more easily than armor can, and by the end of the cold war, a lot of ATGMs in the stocks would have been unable to kill tanks in wide use from the front at all- with the exception of TOW-2A and really big A...

Re: Tank gun accuracy, or how I learned to stop worrying and love Airland Battle tank balance

Looking at desert storm skews things in this instance. We don't have another example of a modern military in action during 1991, so it's all we have to go on. If we're going to get into hypotheticals, ATGMs would have rendered MBTs into death traps in WW3, IMO. For one thing, in WWIII, the air forc...

ATGMs and other PGMs, especially air-delivered ones. Hell Bradleys killed more tanks in Desert Storm than Abrams tanks did.

Re: Suggestion: 15-man squads +50% RoF on primary weapon

If you have 2 20 pts log trucks vs. 1 40 pts, 2 will distribute supply 2x as fast. The tradeoff here is that the 20pt trucks offer less supply per card and per CP, plus the more expensive ones are usually faster offroad and occasionally armored. It's fairly situational which one is better, which is...
