I still use rapiers with chally marksman infront as the SEAD bait, usually nabs me nice kills with stuns and missiles, adds nice redundancy

Put simply, experimental tech requires the cream of the crop, you can't put rookies in an airframe designed to be aerodynamically unstable, that's just madness, it's bloody expensive in AP to get the pair, I prefere the tornado F3/F2 in pairs for the job, euro fighters tend to get bum rushed by redf...

Crowsnest is what the Navy calls it (I think); Lockheed Martin won the contract IIRC, and Vigilance Pod is developed by L-M, so its quite possible its the same thing. I don't know more than that. What would the advantage be putting the same radar system on a dedicated AES helicopter when your F-35s...
