Re: Support decks at the front lines, yes it is possible.

I don't really get support decks. Out of all the deck specializations this one is really the one that makes little sense to choose in this game. - You get shitty infantry - You get shitty tanks - You get shitty everything - You get a lot of support and logistics slots (lol) If you're looking for a b...

Re: Flying OFF map, exploit or not?

Simple answer: I don't consider it an exploit. The maps are small and the planes simply have to be given the freedom to veer off map. I understand your frustration, it's hard to defend against planes that move at the edges of the map. This is however a "problem" only on smaller maps - the ...

Re: [DDoS ATTACK] Round #2

I think the worst thing about this is that multiplayer games are affected so deeply. I'd understand connection loss interrupting lobbies and chat but interrupting a game in progress is pretty bad - I mean, at this point the client should be communicating between players and shouldn't be affected by ...

Re: Why is Straight so popular?

I avoid this map like the plague. It has the worst map features you could think of: - A single road leading to the front (hello Smerch!) - Navy (hello balance issues and broken gameplay!) - River right in the middle (hello chokepoints and broken riverboats!) - No real chance of flanking - A ridiculo...

Re: Is defensive play a good idea?

Defensive play is a bad idea. In both destruction and conquest, attack is the key. In destruction you attack and take over sectors to gain an income advantage. Destruction has the snowball effect, once you've taken more sectors you get more income to keep the pressure up and it's pretty much game ov...

Re: Eugen, bye for now...

I'm sure it is jarring for players who are coming from games like wargame and supcom who are used to large zoom levels but compared to most other RTS games, AoA already has a pretty high zoom height. As a SupCom and Wargame fan, I get what you say. Icon fighting at each others may not be for everyo...

Re: Small tactics - tell yours

Probably all/any of them not my own discoveries but simple solid tactics. A set of 10 tips, in no particular order: 1) Attack city defenses with cheap walking infantry with tank/gun support behind. The enemy infantry in building will reveal their positions by engaging your infantry and then your tan...

Re: Survey about Act of Aggression

Buy AoA? No. The primary reason being I don't like traditional base building and micro intensive RTS's. Wargame was exactly my cup of tea, AoA not. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next installment of Wargame.

Re: Do we have to wait 2-4 yers for a new Wargame?

No ships this time, please. Or stick to troop transports and river boats. Navy action was pretty much out of proportion in RD - and why wouldn't it be? Frigate sizes ships have no real place in Wargame scale. Balancing them side by side with ground units is just pretty much impossible. I'd say navy ...
