Re: The US holy vehicles

The Sgt. York system had many design features that looked great on paper, but weren't so good in reality. Take how they used the hull of the M48. There were thousands of those in storage. A good use for them right? Not when they can't keep up with the Abrams, Bradleys, and other vehicles they were s...

Re: The US holy vehicles

If you dig deep enough you can find some truly hilarious insanity from Sparky. Just Google "Mike Sparks M113 Gavin".

He has multiple accounts and is downright OBSESSED with this M113 crusade.

Re: The US holy vehicles

I don't know if anybody has mentioned it, but this series of videos is made by an individual known as Mike Sparks aka "Sparky". To put it simply, he is insane. He believes the entire Army should be based around the M113 (which he insists on calling the "Gavin". He hates virtually...

Re: M1 Abrams underused

Yes it had passive night vision sight, as did every soviet tank in question (late T72/64/80 series). They deny any observation to both sides (aerosols cannot be penetrated by IR) and this negates perceived range advantage of the western tanks even in their defensive positions. To my best knowledge ...

Re: Suggestions

I'd think that up to 1989 is fair game.

Re: M1 Abrams underused

BMP 1/2 would use ATGM on the long range, as would the higher level pact tanks (and those have even better "depression" than NATO tanks). In defense they would use self entrenchment tool (30 minutes and you have the full hull down trench). Yes, you have vision blocks on M1, but no night s...

Re: Suggestions

I know we are pushing the timelines here but an A2 (M2A2, M3A2) Bradley could be added with 3-2-1-1 armor So it aluminium armor will be similar to basic tanks like leopard and T-62. Seems legit. Or not? That is what the Marder 1A3 has for armor at the moment, both the A3 Marder and A2 Bradley recei...

Re: Suggestions

I think the Bradley's armor should be bumped up to 2-2-1-1, based on what the earlier Marders and BMP-1/2D have.

Re: M1 Abrams underused

You mean 3 degrees advantage for hull down, when compared to the ability of pact tanks to create digouts for themselves (self entrenching tool) and their general lower profile? Lack of commander sights on M1A1 (of any kind, even daysights) making target search difficult? Presence of illumination, s...

Re: 100000 Point game, replay inside.

But what is the use of so many points if you can only field say 4 M1A1s or similar top-end gear?
