Re: [guide] Choosing your PACT infantry

Oh, I agree with that. Sane infantry doesn't attack in APCs. However , sane infantry also doesn't stick in tight clusters of ten men that can all be taken out by one shell. As long as that's a problem, it's more efficient to rush while mounted. Also leads to more realistic outcomes in terms of losse...

Re: NATO slightly better than PACT?

Just out of curiosity, do you actually play both factions? To my mind, both factions are balanced. It's just a thing of personal preference that might give you the feeling that one faction is slightly better. For myself that's Pact. I play PACT 90% of the time, that's true. I play NATO occasionally...

Re: [guide] Choosing your PACT infantry

It's easy to get a horde to go cross country, not caring for their losses, then drop a few meters next to a tank, and shoot in the 4 seconds after the drop as if nothing had happened. If it was from a hidden group in a nearby wood, I find this OK-ish. If it's dashing forward, i find this moronic fo...

NATO slightly better than PACT?

This is mostly a copypaste from the T80 thread, not to derail that. Basically it's my rant on how NATO has advantages in several key areas. ------------------------------------------------------- IMO NATO is actually stronger: Recon: NATO wins, more better options, also NATO units just generally hav...

Re: T-80 base variant price bump

IMO T80 is properly priced as it's almost balanced with T80U: You can get 2xAP11 guns or 3xAP9 guns for the same price (if I remembered the stats correctly). Of course, you get less armor and no ATGMs, but the tank metagame generally is balanced towards taking fewer high-level tanks, T80 line doesn'...

Re: [guide] Choosing your PACT infantry

Known fact: Infantry in woods destroy any tank 1v1. Second known fact: Dropping infantry in the middle of a tank isn't skill, but, well, it's fine if in a really desperate situation I guess. Note: The second fact is my personal opinion. I never recommend to use it as I feel it's an abuse of the gam...

Re: Heavy tanks = boring

If you actually manage to pull off a side ambush, you're better off doing it with a heavy than with ATGM: - Will hit much faster. - Shells don't disappear in flight. - Won't get wiped out by the ambushed heavies after firing one shot. - Won't get wiped out by mortars after firing 2 shots. - Won't ne...

Re: T-80 base variant price bump

IMO NATO is actually stronger: Recon: NATO wins, more better options. Arty: One word - Mortars. OTOH, PACT's rocket arty does jack sh*t now. Tanks: Heavies - PACT has 2 very good ones, after that NATO is better. If the game is not low point NATO is better. Also, RISE Patton - PACT got nothing compar...

Re: Heavy tanks = boring

You know that's like exactly the opposite of what people have been saying about ATGMs for how many pages on here, and on how many threads? ^ What Hegemon said. Also, let me give you an example. High-level attack choppers are heavies of the sky; the pack a huge punch and are hard to kill. However, y...

Re: Heavy tanks = boring

Couple hours ago I killed 3 Leo2a4s and 2 AMX32 with a single Motostrelci unit!! Heavy problem is solved, everyone go home, nerf infantry now!!! ... Wait. Yeah you can kill a heavy with an ATGM or weaker tanks if they're badly managed/unlucky. The problem is that A) You generally need a comparable i...
