Re: BK-27

So tell me again how countries are moving away from lighter caliber, higher rate of fire cannons? If anything, an ideal caliber for a aircraft cannon would be 20-25mm maybe 30mm if the ROF is high enough. Note that it is also safer to store AP/Frag rounds then it is HE rounds. Let me translate what...

Re: BLUFOR/REDFOR win ratio ...

As I've said above, such stats could be used to argue that e.g. Norway is as strong as Eurocorps and USSR. Simply because (surprise!) people who play Norway a lot probably are way more skilled than the "durr hurr let me spam Leo2A4/T72BU" noobs they're commonly facing, so Norwegian winrate...

Re: BLUFOR/REDFOR win ratio ...

There are two issues here: 1. W/L ratio isn't that affected by how UP or OP a faction is. Case in point, check W/L ratios of players that focus on NSWP, Scands, or say Canada. The decks are objectively worse than the competition, yet I bet their W/L is gonna be pretty good because they get good or s...

Re: Soviet Reservists

Also the motos have the 2nd worst MG in the game, which makes them rather underwhelming even compared to some conscripts

Re: BK-27

3cm shells needed 1-3 to bring down a B17, 20x 2cm shells needed to do the same. 1x3cm shell to bring down a fighter, 10x 2cm rounds to bring down a fighter. Rule of thumb for the Germans which is why you saw the fitting of 3cm guns or configurations of quad 2cm in planes. Everyone but the US was b...

Don't know about that. Volume of fire on the M61A1[Vulcan] after a full second is only about 6.87kg, compared to the 7.37kg of the BK-27, 26kg of the GSh-6-30, ...

Re: BK-27

You're kidding right? The Vulcan has the higher rate of fire which puts more rounds out anyway so that you have a higher chance of hitting your target. It's job is to shred planes to bits and make them fall out of the sky, not to cause planes to explode like you see in the movies. While other natio...

Re: BK-27

Maybe Range*HE/s and Range*HE/s*Suppression would be good columns to add in the end, as combined measures of effectiveness?

Re: BK-27

Here's the relevant aircraft extract of my current work on autocannons. ... Il-102 Rear gun is the same as the one below it, but has twice the suppression. Great work! This doesn't take range into account though, other than having way too much HE/s, Vulcan also has longer range than most aircraft c...
