Re: Caracals and Patriots for Poland

I suppose the Russian are quite mad about the Patriot ?

As for the caracal, it's a very good choice. The Armée de l'Air is very satisfied with this helicopter, it is very reliable and versatile. For now, with all the problems of the NH-90, it's the best European transport chopper.

Re: ISIS and Taleban declare jihad on eachother

Well, that's good news, isn't it? After all, if they spend their time slaughtering each other, they should have less time to enslave local population and prepare terrorist actions.

Re: War Thunder

Joystick is very good for flying, very awful for shooting. I gave up my stick and switched to a mouse when I realised i couldn't hit anything. Went from 1 kill a game to 4 kills a game. Probably an issue with how you set up your Joystick, more than plug and play with those pain in the ass things an...

Out of all French Navy names, my favourite is Le Fantasque.

Or just go for any Culture Spaceship names in Iain Banks books. Great fun.

Re: An open question to MadMat

Also, which film do you prefer? Top Gun or le chevaliers du ciel ? Les Chevaliers du Ciel. Not because French, but because the aerial scenes are way prettier, and more of them. Besides, TG is so 80's macho stuff, that like watching History Channel. The aerial scenes of Les Chevaliers du Ciel are qu...

Re: Wargame: The Seven Years War

The iriszoom engine can do a lot of things, but I'm not sure it can manage big infantry formations and close combat properly, at least not without extensive modifications.
But sure, that would probably be a great game!

Re: Anyone here play tabletop Wargames?

"Cold War Commander" Looks interesting. Yes, it's fun. I've got a US cavalry battlegroup, and a VDV one. Best place, IMO, to buy minis for that scale is GHQ . I second that. I've bought some GHQ and some Scotia, the difference in quality is HUGE. CinC has a very good reputation on being a...

I have some serious doubts that it would.

Two prototype produced, conducted carrier trials... Hey, that's more advanced that the F-35 when it actually entered production

Re: Units that you feel bad about using (old ALB thread)

Plane that never entered service with few prototypes < plane that was and is still used by the Soviet/Russian navy and is already in game and currently useless. I would not complain as much if the realistic plane was occupying a useful role, which it is currently very far from (It is possibly the w...
