Re: Surrender
Any mechanic which makes killing the prisoners the optimum gameplay strategy should be avoided. We want a game, not a warcrimes simulator.

Bocage and Vehicle Maneuverability
The terrain of Normandy played a huge role in aiding the defense, mainly by constraining armored vehicles to the main roads. Will that terrain affect be present in Steel Division? Will tank off-road mobility vary according to vehicle size? Does bomb damage to a road reduce speed? Lastly, in war game...

Re: Phases in SD
Madmat, do we have confirmation on different armies receiving lower / higher incomes in the different phases Look at the battlegroup screen screenshot among the new ones released today (the one with the French TD and a sailor as commander). Top left corner, you'll see the division's "chart&quo...

Re: Phases in SD
Madmat, do we have confirmation on different armies receiving lower / higher incomes in the different phases? I only ask as that might cause some upsetness in players of the lighter battlegroups. The phase idea is one of the several great design decisions which are appearing in this game. (Surrender...

Re: Wargame Sequel, Wargame 4, Next Wargame, Expansion Directory
I'm sad that Eugen is leaving the cold war for now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're just tired of that. SD looks promising, the new mechanics would fix many of the problems in the average war game match. It looks like SD mechanically is very inspired by the weakness of the Wargame series. For...

This is a solid list, I really like the speed boost on the fast attack aircraft.

How can the South Korean government function if the president is in a totally psychologically dependent state?
Wouldn't that be grounds for removal from office on health based reasons?

I'm still for the idea of buffing all cluster bomb AP values by 50% at least. And maybe for the lulz giving them 1-2 HE value wouldn't be a terribad idea either. Cluster bombs should be more deadly. They are much higher risk, pointwise, than cluster artillery rockets. They should be scary, massacre...

Re: East, Southeast and South Asia News
Article about the necessity of preparing US and RoK forces for warfare under nuclear attack in Korea: http://breakingdefense.com/2016/09/preparing-for-the-next-war-in-korea/ I wonder if this will start affecting exercises, not in the offensive sense of a counter-force campaign, but in the reactive s...
