Re: Please allow deck restrictions on ranked

It's a strategy meant to 100% counter a enemy heli opening. The solution is to get some manpads (sas) and drop them early on before the celtics can get to the transporting helis, ignoring the useless drakens and pounding through the ground. Also, last time I tried the drakens (v92) they had trouble...

Re: Please allow deck restrictions on ranked

I don't see the problem with allowing people a choice in what they play against, even in ranked. Ranked is about winning with the best units that you have available. I disagree that ranked is necessarily a "tryhard cheesefest". Any game is about winning whether it is ranked or unranked. It...

Please allow deck restrictions on ranked

I was very happy that I didn't have to play against mixed cheese decks anymore if I didn't feel like it. Unfortunately almost nobody plays 1v1 in lobbies and also people outside of ranked are usually bad/ Now let me first say that there is nothing intrinsically "wrong" with mixed decks. Th...

Re: An Argument in Favor of Trucks (or The Utility of Trucks

I haven't read the thread but I'm against 1pt units in general. The only thing I could imagine being remotely realistic is the reservist cards getting trucks, but because there are so many of them that becomes instantly exploitable again. I can see where the arguments about "realism" are c...

Re: Statistics and the problem with "post a replay"

@Doeko You are right, statistics are relevant, but there are many problem with them, just like with replays. Some of those problems would be that players don`t always try to play in the most efficient way, the different skillevels, units which are harder to use then others and that certain uses of ...

Re: Statistics and the problem with "post a replay"

It is possible to come to a conclusion "who has received an unfair advantage". Simply by watching and discussing a replay. You can reach a conclusion, but it will be subjective and (therefore) have a high probability of being the wrong one. Just because something is subjective it doesn`t ...

Re: Statistics and the problem with "post a replay"

Effectively you aren't saying much of anything, which is what frustrates me. For someone apparently so focused on cold hard numbers, you are awfully flexible when it comes to having any solid opinions or responding to any specific points I make. Do you expect me to come up with an exact statistical...

Re: Statistics and the problem with "post a replay"

Why do you continue to refuse to acknowledge that Eugen has specifically asked for people to post replays? Why is it so unreasonable to give them the benefit of the doubt as to their own quantitative statistics? Given the continuing commercial success of the franchise, I think they've earned it. Se...

Re: Statistics and the problem with "post a replay"

Well I think most people would agree with that somewhat, but I would give Eugen the benefit of the doubt regarding their own analytics. However, it seems counterproductive to downplay the importance of replays... Wouldn't you agree? http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=37035&...

Re: Statistics and the problem with "post a replay"

Here is where I have to strongly disagree with you. Can you imagine the forum-warrior-turned-statisticians that would come out of the woodwork overnight? Replays provide objective material for everyone to draw conclusions from, subjective as they may be... but the only conclusions that ultimately m...
