Re: French-language report from the Swedish trials of the AM

Nice doc (and website), thanks for sharing.

Was Sweden interested in acquiring the AMX-13 ? It seems from the report that the trials were mostly a way for AMX to test the prototype in cold weather.

Re: A laid-back American President

I don't see the salute as a sign of subservience, for me it's just as a codified greeting (with a variable amount of respect added depending on the person/symbol you have in front of you). Most civilians I welcomed on board used to salute then shake hands anyways, just to be sure. :D If not you do t...

Re: SA ferret ENTAC?

@ EightLeclercs & Vulcan 607 Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Swingfire on the Striker more accurate than on the Ferret ? That would mean that the Stirker actually got the SWIG in-game while the Ferret got the old model, but that the MCLOS and SACLOS traits are switched between the two ver...

Re: SA ferret ENTAC?

Sounds like an error. I see no reason for them to have this trait.
IIRC someone signaled it a long time ago but it was never corrected ; anyways :

Re: I wish and long for Relative Missile values

It's difficult to know. I keep getting sources that conflicts one another everywhere. :? I did find this, but no idea how reliable it is: http://www.jedsite.info/missiles-mike/mike/milan_series/milan2.jpg I'll try to find more informations later, I have stuff to do right now. (I had no idea that th...

Re: VAB NG

The Mark 1- Mark 3 are new vehicles than don't share much with the old VAB apart from the name. Besides, they are destined to export and aren't used by the french army. http://www.armyrecognition.com/images/stories/europe/france/wheeled_armoured/vab_mark_3/VAB_Mark_3_Mk3_Mk_3_wheeled_armoured_vehicl...

Re: Let's make a list of Italian units!

I'm glad I was able to contribute. 1. I admit I had not considered that possibility, since it had such a '80s look. :) I found a pre-1990 advertising featuring it, and apparently it was deployed in Somalia and Yougoslavia in 1992. I would say 1990, to take no risks. 2. I'm quite sure it existed, I'v...

Re: North Korean tanks without any Strelas?

The tank above (a Ponkpung Ho IIRC) is armed with Manpads and ATGMs. It can be seen better in this closeup : http://media.tumblr.com/bcb004d18810af32bfb2aeba530abdfc/tumblr_inline_mr0k4pUF3L1rznupj.jpg In timeframe, I remember seeing a T-55/T-62 with strela and Maluytka (and another one with rockets...
