Re: (X)M975 Roland 2

According to french army docs, the US Roland trucks were in service in Europe from 86 to 88, in the AMF(L), before being sent to the National guard. I failed to find american docs confirming that, though. At any rate, I'm not necessarily calling for Rapier or Roland Buffs/Nerfs, just pointing out th...

Re: French Units in Red Dragon

Could the second one be a naval artillery piece, by any chance ? :)

Re: French Units in Red Dragon

I guess the texturing wasn't too expensive. :) None of this bizarre VLRA-Mortar or VLRA-MLRS that never saw the light of day (thankfully). Nor should a VAB with the mortar be added. Never created, never left the design stage from Nexter. Also too expensive for the army. If we had towed mortars sure,...

I still cannot understand why somewhere in the '80s a german enginner thought that it would be a good idea to put everything on hydraulic arms. Nor why the others didn't shut him up immediatly.

Re: WARGAME RED DRAGON - the first hostilities caught on vid

Trigat MR would be guided, so I don't see what's so special about it. Except the speed maybe but I think others are faster, aren't they? Imagine a Milan with SALH guidance instead of SACLOS, better aiming, and 1100mm of penetration + tandem warhead. Of course since it's an infantry missile it would...

No Trigat LP (the version on the Tiger) or no Trigat at all ? I still hope to see the Trigat MP (milan successor), since its development was finished in 1995 and only budget cuts prevented it from being fielded.

Re: French Units in Red Dragon

Considering how close from the Rafale a Mirage 2000-5 with an A2A loadout would be, I doubt we will see a new 2000. :( or maybe a D variant *crossfingers* Correct me if I am wrong but by 1990's did a lot of aircraft have launchers that attached to the fuel tank stations to allow extra missiles to be...

Re: Eugene, please

I blame the map design. Two opposed spawns joigned by a road will always call for napalm. If you had multiple starting zones and roads parallel to the frontline, it would be way less used.

Re: French Units in Red Dragon

You thought there would be french missiles with correct models instead of american mock-ups ? You fool !
I think the final loadout will be a mix of Mica EM and Magic II. Mica IR is a bit too recent.
