Not a mistake, the jets over there wernt striking much and overall it wasnt worth the cost, especially when its taken into account a lot of the CF needs t...

Re: 2015 Canadian Election
You don't use the hand gun for hunting, you use it for self defense when you screw up. I understand that, but im also saying it is a law that you aren't allowed to carry hand guns in hunting So you can't even use it for self -defense Its because using anything other than a blunt weapon for self def...

Re: 2015 Canadian Election
Maybe, but what are the RCN needs? From what I see the desire is to conduct: - littorial operations in the ice free waters, this includes the 200 mile zone. - arctic patrols in the non ice free waters. - show of flag/coalition presense elsewhere. Won't eco hippies eat the politicians alive for going nuclear? Plus, what kind of SSNs would you procure, Virginias? Astutes? Baracudas? For what kind of role? Not a purpose built nuke no, its been kicked around for years that for under ice ops a small reactor in place of an AIP/diesel system on an...

Re: 2015 Canadian Election
So the Arctic patrol vessels and 15 multirole frigates? That is more than RN planned procurement of T26s. Yea at around the same size (6000+ Tons), current budget make me bet the under on getting whats now projected as 12, but now that the Libs are in that might change, also, Bath Iron Works is inv...

Re: 2015 Canadian Election
We arent making carriers, rafale wont be a matter for that I honestly doubt grippen, does it have enough range for canada? Also single engine is a minus for big countries Well Brazil is a huge country and they still went for the SAAB Grippen Next Generation (NG). Budget dictates they had to curb th...

Re: 2015 Canadian Election
Well, it sounds like from defensive perspective liberals would like to reinforce Canadian air defense capabilities, and power projection into the Arctic. Makes me wonder though as to who they would invite into that CF18 replacement program competition and how they plan to strengthen the Canadian Na...
