Players of Wargame: Airland Battle
The Imperial Army proudly presents: The Imperial 3v3 Tournament. This tournament will begin on June 23rd, 2013 (a Saturday). It will be single elimination and take place over a number of weeks.
How to join this tournament:
This tournament is by invite only. Twelve clans will each be invited to send one team of 3-6 players to compete. In addition the top 4 finishing teams from the Operation Team Spirit that are not already in the Imperial Tournament or have clans participating in it will be invited.
Each team leader will be sent an invite to the tournament’s Steam group. Here all tournament matches will be hosted each with its own thread. Team leaders must communicate on this thread to decide on an appropriate date. If one team leader does not post on their thread by Wednesday of that rounds week, and the other does, the first team will forfeit the match. If a time cannot be agreed upon by Wednesday of the allotted week, an organizer will assign a neutral time for the match to occur. If one team fails to show up while the other does, the no show team will be eliminated. If both teams fail to show up both teams will be eliminated, the exception to this is in the first and third place matches. For those matches extensions will be applied if necessary.
Maps to be Played:
Maps to be played (in order): Malmo, Alesund, Ostersund, Lillehammer for round one, two, three, and finals respectively.
As stated the event will be beginning Saturday, June 23rd. Each round will take one week to complete. The game settings will be:
Battlefield: Pre-selected map
Game mode: Destruction
Starting Points: 3000
Victory Points: 6000
Time Limit: 40 minutes
If the match ends in a draw the team with the most points wins. If points are tied there will be an immediate rematch. The Opposition (Confrontation, Nato vs Nato, Pact vs Pact) will be pre-decided when the match date is set. This will be single elimination. First and third place matches however are best of 3. Decks are not restricted. Both teams must provide links to the end screenshot, one team must provide a link to a replay on the matches thread in the Steam group immediately after the match. Tournament matches can be recorded and uploaded, or streamed if one team wishes to do so.
Each clan is allowed one team of 3 – 6 players, one player cannot play on multiple teams. One player cannot purchase or use another players account in order to play with another team. If a player breaks this rule they will be banned from this and all future Imperial Tournaments. With that said, there is no limit to how often or how many times one player can be used by one team; not all 6 members are required to play. All teams must wear a clan tag, if they are a group of friends they still must decide upon a tag to use for their in game nickname. These tags must be worn during all tournament matches. This tag must be worn at the start of the name, ex: ia. | AlphaSniper, [GIA] DarkShadow. Bad examples: AlphaSniper, DarkShadow [GIA]. Team leaders must have a registered account on the Wargame forums and be a member of the Steam group, other members are not required to have accounts or be a member. If a team requests the Steam url’s for their opposing teams 3 participating members, that opposing team leader must provide the requesting team leader with url links to the Steam accounts of his 3 participating members. This is to check past nicknames of participating members and ensure they are who their name says they are.
Team leaders must agree who will host the match. If one team fails to show at the pre-agreed time present on the Steam thread they forfeit. If they have only one or two players show at the pre-agreed time they can play in a 2 or 1 v 3. If both teams meet with only 1 player each at the pre-agreed time they will play 1 v 1, if one team decides not to play they forfeit. If the team leader is not present, then one of the members that are present becomes acting team leader and must send a friend invite over Steam to the rival team leader.
Once both teams are ready the countdown will begin. Once the countdown begins the match is on. Once a match has passed deployment phase and the 2 minute mark the game is on. Whether someone disconnects or not does not matter, if one team drops out after that 2 minute mark they forfeit the match. If they lose someone before the 2 minute mark they can request a rehost. The original host will immediately rehost it again else forfeit, if one of the teams cannot play again they must forfeit. However they can agree to go into the match as a 2 or 1 v 3 in the event the disconnected player cannot return or one of the other members must leave. If one team leaves after they both have meet for the match they forfeit.
In the event of a proven desync via screenshots, the match must be immediately replayed. If one team is unable to play the match as they have 0 players available, they forfeit. All rehosts are to be done immediately, replays may not be watched.
In the event of a no show, the team that does show up must provide a screenshot to prove that they were indeed at the pre-agreed time. All matches / forfeits / no shows must be validated with a tournament organizer before a victory / defeat is declared. The victorious team must a provide a link to a replay of the match as well as screenshot of end results.
Tournament matches can be recorded and uploaded, or streamed if one team wishes to do so. If one team claims that their rivals were a no show at the pre-agreed time on the Steam thread, and the opposition does not dispute or agree to the fact on the Steam thread, the team that did show up will be proclaimed victor on Saturday. Tournament organizers will refer to the assigned Steam thread when validating claims, so it is important that you immediately post your screenshots and claims on the assigned thread. All victors and the next round matchups will be announced on Saturday at 12:00pm GMT (Saturday 7pm GMT – 5 [EST]). Therefor all matches must be concluded and the Steam thread updated from both team leaders before that time. If no one has confirmed a victory or defeat on their Steam thread by that time then both teams will be eliminated. The exception to this is in the First and Third place matches.
Tournament organizers reserve the final say and decisions for everything. They hold the right for disqualifying teams due to cheating, use of 3rd party programs, misreport of match ending, falsely claiming their opponents were a no show, among other reasons. Tournament organizers reserve the right to change rules to match a given scenario. Tournament organizers reserve the rights to assign game times if the two teams are unable to agree by the weeks Wednesday. Teams cannot argue this assigned time. If they feel that the assigned time is not fair or biased they may appeal to AlphaSniper within 24 hours of the assigned time being given, this should be a last resort if you know for a fact none of your team can make that time. The organizer that provides the time will post it on the matches Steam thread. Organizers have the final say and must validate each loss or victory and post the final decision on the Steam thread for that match before Saturday 12:00pm GMT. If at any point you wish to argue a decision or make a complaint, please provide them to AlphaSniper within an appropriate amount of time.
Please remember to update your matches thread in the Imperial Tournament Steam group immediately after each match. All final decisions will be made based on the matches thread. By participating in the tournament, you agree to these rules as well as to any rule adjustments made by a tournament organizer; however you do have the right to argue an organizer’s decision with AlphaSniper so long as it is argued before Saturday 12:00pm GMT.
All penalties will be decided by tournament organizers. Prizes include but are subject to change: First place team will have their choice from a selection of Steam keys, Second place will then have their choice of a selection of Steam keys. Third place will receive Dota 2 passes. If first or second place teams would rather have a Dota 2 pass they may. Each team member in first, second, and third place is to recieve 1 reward.
We hope everyone has fun at our very first tournament, The Imperial 3 v 3 Tournament. This is to be the first in a long line of Imperial Tournaments, hosted by The Imperial Army. Tournament Organizers must be added or removed before round one. Rules are subject to change before round one. If a rule is changed after round one begins an announcement will be made.
