Still in it for the painting and modeling, not so much the playing these days. BB will always be my baby, my Zons are untouchable. And i've got a cabinet of FoW miniatures just in case I ever need to dust them off. Other than that I mainly stick to P&P. Rogue Trader has been my thing for the last year or so, I was a little late to the party.

I treat myself to a Tamiya kit every few months or so. Working on a PzKpfw VI Ausf. E, Eastern Front, circa Feb 1945. Taking a while to make it look suitably distressed. Zimmerit looks so god damn cool, by the way. Really need to bring it back.

Yesterday I went to Rendsburg for the "Do Or Dice 2014" wargaming convention and got to play on this Apocalypse Now-esque Vietnam board in 6mm scale. They used the FoW:V rules, though.

Kilgore got a special rule that made the vietnamese start "pinned down". :D

Bit image heavy, put them in the spoiler:

My terrain project for CWC is advancing as well, however the mail failed to deliver my tanks and trees yesterday, hope they will arrive tomorrow. :(

Guess I'll just base more buildings and build roads until then...

Terrain is basically done. Will add a few more tree lines, buildings and fields in the future, but it's playable:

Is that Cold War commander or some sort of Flames of War mod?

It's Cold War Commander in 6mm scale (1:285). :)

How's it working for you? I've been using Force on Force for 6mm and the conversions are getting annoying.
Do I look like a reasonable man to you, or a peppermint nightmare?

CWC is a good rule, IMO, for battalion strenght battle.
The emphasis is put on firepower concentration, for there are no "hit pointd". A unit is "normal", "pinned down" or "destroyed/route". If you inflict enough damages on an ennemy unit to have it "pinned", you better keep firing on it or it will be able to go back to "normal" afterwards. Hence, you usually concentrate your fire one those unit you really want to destroy.
I'm also fond of their action/reaction rules, allowing for the player which is not actually playing his turn to interfere with his opponent's actions.

And artillery & air support missions are also quite finely modeled.

Gotcha. I'm more interested in the Company level. I'll go up to Battalion for opfor but that's because companies function closer to big platoons in their doctrine.

I'm also quite fan of infantry company battles, which is why i've moved on a new project: painting two 15mm companies of French & Vietnamese for the Indochina War.
i will play with a Cold War adaption of the famous Blitzkrieg rule.
