KA-50 vs M48 Chapparal (DCS)

Postby stray cat » Mon 10 Mar 2014 22:40

I decided to re-enact situations from WALB in DCS, because it has KA-50 helicopters and chaparrals.

I thought you got banned?
If there's two kinds of players, those that like challenges and those that want a fair game, pubstomps should make everyone happy.

Nice. Pop up attack from a distance would have been interesting too.

Too bad the last Gunship was so disappointing, never tried any of the DCS series, i dont want to spend months on a game just to learn the basics (at least thats my impression from what i have heard/read about it).

It takes about one afternoon actually if you apply yourself.

Are you trying to say that the Chaparral should have more than 4 missiles?

I think so but the default mode is actually really fun when you learn to play it, just download the default dcs and learn on the free su25 t(all though it dosen't really carry over to any other planes as far as I can tell.

On a different note that's the only proof I've ever seen that counter measures work in that game, usually no matter how many times I press the button my f-15 randomly explodes despite all my maneuvering.

Yep. It isnt as intimidating as people think. Just got to take it as a step by step process.

Indeed there is.

The avionics of the Ka-50 are rather simple (except perhaps the ABRIS), it's the dynamics of flight that are hard. Finding some good tutorial videos on YouTube reall helps, though.
