So with the recent and disturbing reports of armed Islamists seizing large portions of Iraq, including several of its largest cities, and working their way towards Baghdad, do you think that the USA and the UN should send in the tanks in order to support the Iraqi army, and hold back the wave of extreme Islamic terrorism? Considering that the attacking group is a splinter of al quadea, and is getting seriously close to taking the capital, should the rest of the world intervene to protect the democratic government of Iraq?
Personally, yes, I think they should. We went in there, we removed the Iraqis stability and normality by overthrowing their dictator, and in doing so we allowed those sorts of threats to manifest themselves. We spent 10 years trying to install a democracy in Iraq, and if we sit back and watch it get destroyed by terrorists, then it would have all been in vain.
Besides, it would be unthinkable to allow what is basically Al Quaeda to control an entire country, which is what it looks like it's leading towards at the moment.

A brilliant plan from the dirtiest euro-hippie: get US players to pay me for a game that I then show them how much their military sucks so I can feel better about being a communist.

Exactly the situation where (I wish) the UN had the balls/power/mandate to come to the aid of a nation...sadly, this is not the case...

Tanks?
Getting some help with air support is a definite possibility, but it will be a cold day in hell before anyone, the US included, commits ground forces to Iraq again.

Iran will save Iraq with its Chieftains, F-14s, and AH-1s.

This^^ If their army can at least put up some sort of defense outside of Baghdad, then with enough airpower it should be easy enough to push them back. I think in this case Drones would probably be best since its relatively low impact and its a bit more surgical. (The ISIS is just about the top dog in doing Propaganda)
Too bad the Iraqi Air Force won't get their Apaches and F-16's till later this year.
On another side note, what happens when Iran intervenes?

Re: Iraq, send in the tanks?
Iraq becomes a literal Iranian client state instead of just a pretend US one.

UN resolution, joint air strikes on enemy strongholds, Iraqi army wins, democracy and moderation retained.
